Good news is we have some nice pieces on the team, guys that will come back from injury, a high draft choice that will finally net us an edge rusher and a ton of cap room. Our defense isn't as bad as it appears. They just never warmed up to Saleh's scheme. With luck, Saleh will be gone and this will be addition by subtraction.

If they never warmed to Saleh's scheme, which scheme do you think would be better?

Any scheme other than cover three.
week in and week out there are Shanny plays that just work....regardless of the players on the field... or maybe even in spite of the guys on the field .....

This team will be better then the record shows at the end of the year.

McG, Warner, Jimmy G, Sherman, Buckner, Staley, Kittle, Breida.
The good thing is that it's a QB driven league and a good one can mask many deficiencies. I believe if injuries don't become a factor Jimmy G will be an elite QB and make this team better immediately. The question comes up will Shanahan be able to surround him with the talent to succeed. A new experienced defensive coach could also work wonders.
REALLY getting hard to see the Silver Lining anymore. I'm not in the "fire everyone" camp like some folks around here...but damn...this season has just been a nightmare! The best thing for this franchise is to get to the offseason, get healed up, spend some coin on quality guys in FA, and have an epic draft.

This and throw in McKinnon a free agent lb and or de and maybe cb.

I would add Mostert. He is awesome on special teams and when he finally got a chance to run the ball he showed a lot of promise.

Drafting Bosa will make the sting of the season go away some.
