100%. If we can actually stay healthy next year as well.

Yep...I think the health question will be the most important piece over the next year. We could get the most amazing FA players and have a hell of a draft but if dudes can't stay healthy, it won't matter.
Sliver Lining? You want positives? OK. I got them. I got them in spades ♠️.

While the rest of you see DOOM and GLOOM, I see FLASHES. I see flashes of talent from this year's draft and last year's draft that make me VERY excited for what is coming next, and soon.

I saw flashes of how DAMN good Dante Pettis is really going to be for us. Four catches for 77 yards? A TD catch that was so impressive that he essentially faked a defender into the State of Nebraska? The numbers may seem pedestrian, but remember his QB was a 3rd string, undrafted kid starting only his third game.

I see flashes of how DOMINANT Mike McGlinchey is really going to be in every single game he plays. That TD run by Mostert against the Raiders was a thing of pure BEAUTY that brought tears to my eyes. And, if McGlinchey is this good now? Imagine the beast he will become by three years. He will collapse half of Seattle's defensive line for YEARS to come.

I see flashes of pure greatness from Fred Warner in every single game he plays. Is he making every play in his rookie season? No, but I see flashes of what he will be. By his third year he will be a FORCE to be reckoned with. Opponents will have to game-plan with Warner in mind.

The arrows are pointing UP my friends. Just you wait and see.

Great post sir. However, a list of 3 positives shouldnt be described as having them in spades. lol
I think the offensive run game is looking good between solid line play and Breida. I think the run defense looks much better than last year. Success at running the ball and stopping the run are solid foundations on which to build the rest of the team next year. It's no guarantee that next year will be better, but it gives some reason for hope. If the team was missing success at running the ball or not having success at stopping the run, fixing that would have to be a fairly high priority. But now I think they can focus more on other things in the off season (but I'm not suggesting that they don't do anything to help the run game and stopping the run, just that it doesn't need to be as high a priority).
The more I think of it, although I hate that guys are injured, us tanking this season may actually speed up the rebuild by allowing us to get some key pieces that will allow us to be very competitive very quickly.

Assuming we had a winning record this year, we probably wouldn't be in the position we are to snag a top-flight pass rusher and other key pieces. We would probably be a team that stalled at a certain point 9-7, 10-6 because of not having that player or two to push us over the hump.

We needed at least another good draft position and maybe this is it.

I will fill in for you kind sir. Kittle is a pro bowl tight end. It can be argued that he is playing the best out of every tight end this year. Catching and running, and he is going to probably break the yards after catch record by Kelsey. That is ridiculous considering he has no quarterback to throw to him and his stats would be much better if he had a quarterback like Carson Wentz or Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes. So that's how much better he is than that any other tight end right now. You have to look at it that way, I'm sorry.

Matt breida Is doing phenomenal. Considering he has been nicked up and not at 100%, he has the highest yards per carry in the league. I will say that again, he has the highest ypc in a league with running backs over 100 attempts. Here's another fun fact. He is tied for third with the most runs of 10+ yards. He is only 4 behind Elliott and one behind Gurley and he has 100 less attempts. That is utterly ridiculous.

+1
Trey Flowers and Josh Allen.

Make it happen Lynch.
We are now in position to draft Staley's replacement.
Or we can draft another DT and have the best run stuffing DL in the league.

yes, yes and yes...

this is the most excited i've been for the niners since 2014? there's a lot of excellent pieces in play and a terrific draft position offering immediate help where it's critical. i thought we would have to wait several more years, but i think we're finally competitive next year.

This is a POSITIVE thread sir! POSITIVE means no negative observations, which you have so clearly enunciated.

This is, therefore, a CLEAR violation of Webzone

Gotta add Mullens.
We needed more talent at backup QB to keep the train rolling if Jimmy G went down. Mullens stepped up to the plate and delivered. With more talent around him, he is able to win games whereas Beathard was handing out fumbles like cigars in a maternity ward.

Phil Dawson is another in a line of FA kickers that have been money for us.
I wish management could find us pass rushers like they find these kickers who come in as FA's and deliver.
