I was in a large rec room at a house in SF. Everyone there had been Niner fans since the 60's (and some since the 50's) and almost nobody could even believe the Niners were even in the game. At the end of the first half, a high-school friend of mine looked at me and said, "we're not only IN the Super Bowl, but we're ahead. I can't believe it!"

Niner fans were anything but arrogant in those days.

haha,, we all worked in a grocery store at the time! you are right,, we were wide eyed and did not know better,, something happened to us though in the years to follow cuz we (i) became awful arrogant . i guess when you have a team in which the us postal service actually issues official niner postage stamps,, you get pretty full of yourself

that is a very well done video,, now my question is who is the world is the little goober who works for the niners in a suit coat, short guy with black hair a black goatee,,, he was on the sidelines in that game and he was also right in the middle of the infamous jh slap on the back moment in the lions game,,, he is always around,, pr guy? i have been curious about him for years

Haha! This guy! I had sideline passes once and took a picture of him! Will he still be here or was he assigned to Harbaugh to make sure he didn't do anything, well....Harbaugh.

Awesome Thread!!!! Prolly all the "Old School" 49ers Fans would say that one vs the Bengals . At that time i was like 1 years old .more recent ones were that Lee Woddall recovery return TD (Sunday Night Football on ESPN) OR That Goal Line stand vs The Eagles where they had 8 cracks inside the 5 and got zero points. Another one no one mentioned was that TONE SETTING HIT by WH31 Vs the Saints in 11

but it was not a goal line stance! technically .. the carolina goal line stance was good, funny at times and entertaining

I don't think so. The running back takes three or four steps before Whitner blasts him.
