I'd have to agree. At this moment the 49ers are six players in the right places away from the Super Bowl. Like it or not, and I don't , the 49ers have some holes and are not as deep as we would like to believe they are. In retrospect, the failure of the 49ers 2012 draft really did set us back . Baalke needs to hit some home runs with this year's draft and hope our young players develop.
It's a dumb article. And if you are comparing the team in 2014 with 2015, we already have a bucket-load of excellent players coming back from injury. The 2012 draft is rapidly becoming irrelevant.
There aren't too many articles coming from ESPN that are smart, if there are any at all. Also, there is no guarantee that all of those players coming back from injury will be able to come back at the level they formerly played at. I hope they can, and am happy if they do, but I'm not automatically assuming they will. The 2002 draft is irrelevant, the 2012 draft is still relevant in that it was just three years ago and we should have productive players on the team from that draft now. I'm not saying it can't quickly become irrelevant given our past two drafts and this year's draft, just that 2012 can't yet be dismissed.
