so 9-12 months away?
2 ERs, 1 LB, 2 DBs on D and

1 OG, 1 TE(6'5" and fast), and a healthy Jimmy.

Total : 5 players on D +. 3 players on O, one of which we already have but is wounded. 8 players total.
5 months or so.

Well, like I said, I am not a GM and do not claim to be right all the time of course. However, when was the last time we drafted a WR in Round 1? I think it was Jenkins yes? Ugh. When you look at history, it is rare to find a high quality WR in late rounds. As far as FA goes, take a look at who is out there in the 2019 FA Class. We really are talking mid-tier 2 guys at best. We do in fact need a big-bodied WR who can help us in the red zone (we are awful here) and be able to jump up for the 50/50 balls and come down with them most of the time. Now, it may not be a Round 1 thing, perhaps a Round 2 pick, but to find a WR like this, based on the slim pickings out there in FA, it needs to be a high round selection. We have no WR's on our roster that draw much concern to a defense right now. I do agree, an ER is a huge need. And I am all for grabbing one in Round 1 IF that selection is deemed to be a better value compared to a WR that is out there. If we are in the Top 10 in the draft, I say yes, let us grab a ER. But if end up around the 15-20 spot, then I would look at both ER and WR and select the BPA. In addition, this draft class is deep at the pass rush positions, with quality players in the first 3 rounds. In fact, some analysts have stated this is the best pass rush class to come around in some time. In addition, in terms of FA, there are some really good ones there too, tier 1's and top tier 2's. There are only 2-3 tier ones in FA and I am betting most will sign extensions before then. But in tier two, such as Dunlap with Cincy, is available and others like him with a similar skillset. I say if we dont have a Top 10 Draft Pick to grab a ER with, lets grab one in Round 2 and sign a couple of those tier 2 guys. Some of the forum have been talking about Bosa. No way. I would love to have him of course, but unless we have a Top 5 pick, it will not happen. And to trade up from lets say #15 to #4 to grab him would take way too much draft capital. With the holes we have at WR, OL, CB, Safety we cant afford to give away the entire draft for 1 dude. And again, there are indeed quality guys in the first 2-3 rounds. In our first 3 rounds, I would love to see us select a ER, WR, DB and in rounds 4-7 get OL, LB, OL, BPA. But like I did say before, to be honest, and I dont like this, but I feel it will take us ACING the next TWO offseasons in both the drafts and in FA to get to a level where we are competing for the Division title on a consistent basis. When the current front office came on, there was just not much talent on this team, and I thought then it would take till Year 4 to be fully ready to go. While I do feel we have our Franchise QB (and he will be ready by Training Camp), all other skilled positions need upgrades. We have no pass rushers or DB's that scare off coordinators, and no WR's or RB's that scare def coordinators. While I do think JK can be like a Chris Thompson type of RB, I just dont see him as a 3 down guy that many def coordinators will be overly concerned about. Not sure with Breida yet. I think our team finally has quality depth, which it has not had in years, and we finally have our QB, we just need to upgrade those skilled areas, and I see that taking 2 more years. ----Sorry for the long post....cant sleep. lol.

The Browns are a superior team. Let that one sink in.

Meh. The Browns have had to 5 picks for like a decade plus. They should be dominant by now.

Whatever happen to you saying you were leaving? You don't have to stay.
They are 6 quality players away--3 on defense (edge, athletic db, another dominant lineman) and 3 on offense (olineman, 2 skill players--wr or te or rb). THese 6 players can be drafted or signed in the next 2 years and they compete for a Superbowl in the 2020 season.

Lol no
I say at least 2 years. The injury to Jimmy G set his progress and the teams progress back one year. In addition to that we still need the edge rusher, at least one cover corner who isn't a project, a stud wide receiver and a tackle ( Staley will probably be gone in 2 years ). You also have to look at other positions depth and replacements for guys who leave or get hurt. That's a lot of spots to fill in 2 years even if you hit on all your draft picks and free agent signings. If they challenge for the title in 2 years I would be really happy but it may be more like 3. So it might end up being around the time that Lynch and Shanny's contracts are about up.
100000 years if we cant tackle.
It's so hard to project what we will look like in 3 years. This isn't like baseball where you bring up a guy like Trout or Judge and you know you can probably expect 7-10 years from them. Football teams turn over about 50% or more of their players every 3-4 years. It wasn't long ago that we had the best group of LB's in the league and within a 2 year span they were all gone. With the head trauma concern among today's players turnover is even more likely. I would hate to be a GM in todays game and try to figure all this stuff out. Even drafting is getting harder since so many college teams are running up tempo spread offenses making it harder to project how a QB, wideout or even a pass rusher will develop in the NFL. It's almost like 2 different games. College is looking more and more like Arena football where defense matters less and less. Even Alabama has a high scoring offense now. It's a new era.
