His offenses where completing 63-66% in a league where 53-55ish% was the average. I have no doubt 70+% would have been very doable.

Concerning the shotgun, Ive never had a problem with it, but watching the dynasty day WCO always made me love dominating a game from undercenter.

Speaking of WCO and gun forms, a great example of the marriage between the two could be seen in the late 90s with Hal mumme at Kentucky and then perfected by his protégés Mike leach at Texas Tech. The air raid is essentially a supercharged WCO that is out of the gun 95% of the time and throws the ball upwards of 75-80% of the time. It's passing concepts are basically all the core WCO concepts.

You are just a wealth of knowledge, my friend!
I watched "A Football Life, Bill Walsh" on NFL Network. Coach explained the drop back and how each step was calculated when to throw the ball at the optimum moment. If the QB takes one step too many or one too few the play was disrupted. Talk about precision offense, even after all these years no one comes close to that version of the Bill Walsh offense.

Nope. And Logan seems to understand these QB-to-WR drop-back timing/teachings. So I'm VERY curious to see if we start to see more and more of CK under C this year.
This bit of trivia about Walsh, Montana, Young, and really Holmgren also always fascinated me. It's true they all expressly disliked the shotgun. However, Young used it with the LA Express, and Walsh lined Montana up in the shotgun several time in the 80s

At 2:11 and 15:49 here against the Giants

And in 1981 against the Lions, which you can find in new reports, against the bears here

Against the Lions here a minute 30 in

Against the bears 17 seconds in

The 49ers also apparently used in 1988 (Madden makes mention of it during the Gaints/49ers game during the winning TD to Rice) -bonus if you can find the footage., and possibly 1987 with Montana but not Young

The Montana didn't use the shotgun thing was also mentioned in this thread

he played with rudi at notre dame
and Steve Young in the shotgun with the LA Express. Didn't use it with Tampa Bay (high degree of confidence) or San Francisco (for sure)
