What I like about traps, screens, cut blocks, and reverses is that they take advantage of fast and aggressive pass rushes. It puts normally aggressive defenders in a read and react mode.

Here is, I think, a good counter once Kyle has gotten the defense to start moving outside to counter the outside zone run.

This guy watched all 2-point conversions from the past seven seasons. He then charted what route concepts worked best on top of other in-depth findings with examples of each concept. It's impressive how in-depth he got. Below is a very small snippet from that study. 49ers were 0-1 in 2017 on 2-point attempts.

According to the data I collected, teams converted on 247/506 2-point conversion attempts (48.8%) which is consistent with other studies done on NFL conversion rates.

I then put each play into one of ten play-type categories in order to see the success rate of each type of play call.

Interesting.....follow Concept was 8/11, 2 man stick was 4/5 and a power run was 16/18

What I found interesting is how much more successful running plays were over passing plays. And how fade passes and rollouts were so low in success rate.

Im wondering if the defense just gears towards pass and assumes fade or roll out. That could explain splits. You figure though, 12 yards isn't a ton of real estate to work with so it takes a lot of really good concepts away.

Didn't Harbaugh tried to call a qb draw on 3rd & goal before he had to call a timeout, and then subsequently called a fade to Crabtree on 4th down...?

The best of call, the worst of call—that's Harbaugh

I'm a very firm believer in doing what you do best. That's why I don't kill Kyle for trusting his QB with 4 minutes left in the SB and that's why I'm still heartbroken that Frank didn't get a touch in SB47.

Was looking at D fronts and this caught my eye. Then something else caught my eye. Can you spot the blooper in this play?

10 men or are we running a 3-3
Haha! Did Day ad lib and change his technique/alignment? Dude two gapped it with the 3tech missing.

On a side note, I don't see how Earl Mitchell makes the final 53.

We successfully confused the Jaguars OL by literally removing one of our DLs off the field on purpose and play with just 10 players on the field with just 6 in the box. The OL totally got confused with their blocking assignment with less people in the box than they expected. That, allowed the future star LB to sneak through and demolish one of the better Arbys in the nation. Great play designed by the Persian. Fahkn genius Saleh!!
