Must resign.

Agreed.

An absolute given.

$19.3M APY for 3 years.

The remaining games are a courtship for TW. I doubt he'll have any trouble finding a fat contract anywhere. It's important he has fun to close this season, win or lose, preferably while winning.

For sure. He ensured he could be a FA so he has the option to get in a bidding war and have that option to maximize his contract. If we can get close to the top, his love of Kyle, this system and this organization may be enough. I certainly hope so!

Gonna get paid.

Post this in your "I want a rookie QB" thread.

But it's a QB hit

It would be cool if they start developing comprehensive OL stats that do splits on the types of passing attempts.

< 2.5 seconds (screens, quick slants, etc.)
2.5 seconds (swing passes, seam routes, curls, etc.)
2.5-3.0 seconds (post, 9, deep in, etc.)

Including TE/FB/RB in comprehensive unit pass protection grades.

Having this context would help tease out responsibility esp. that of the QB.

Agreed

It is a QB hit as Mullens was looking deep. Therefore he's going to need more time in PP.

Just like this is a hit too despite the QB saving their ass.

Did you see the get off from Donald there

I don't give a s**t who's the OG you're not stopping that

It would be very hard to argue that indeed.

LOL. It's definitely not the worst at all. Philly has had like 20 different combos along the OL. #1 in QB hits too. Brutal season.

No way. Not with next years market. No way. Go check out my numbers in the QB thread, cause I dont want to spend the time posting them here. There's 6 starting LT's hitting the market and only 5 teams with 50+ mil(one being WAS where we know Trent isn't going back to). If, for example, NE wants to sign him and keep Joe Thuney(best guard in the game IMO) you'd be looking at 36-37 mil of their 60 mil in cap space right there. They still have their starting center, quarterback, backup quarterback, 2 starting D-lineman, and Jason McCourty all left to sign.

There's just not going to be the market for those kind of contracts.

These are fair points and you're right about there possibly being a lot of really good players on the market for cheap because teams will have to clear a lot of space.

That said, for the premier talent like Williams, it'll simply be structured down in 2021 and pushed to bigger cap hits in 2022 and 2023 where normal league revenue would be expected. That'd ensure he got top 5 money next year.

What APY figure did you have in mind? I know these are unprecedented conditions.

They are a pretty middle of the road PP OL, which if the run game is on is great, and even middle of the road isn't bad. This year had just been/looked a little worse for a multitude of reasons. Last years swing OT is now starting at C, Comption is now at RG, blown assignments amongst OL/FB/RB/TE, they are having difficulties running the ball consistently and while not all the QBs fault by any means, the pocket presence has been awful. Still think they need to be looking at an interior guy in the draft, but sounds like they might be thinking otherwise.

Top 5 worst to me for sure. I disagree at middle of the pack but that's OK. Neither are going to get you to a Superbowl win or even sniff it unless they just blow up over the next few weeks and hit their stride somehow in pass protection AND become a top 2 run blocking unit again.

The weird thing is they haven't been consistent in run blocking with 4 of the 5 regular starters (who balled last year). We knew their ceiling as a pass protection unit coming into the season with no changes in personnel.

But run blocking? That's really fallen off too and I don't know why. Erratic at best.

Super erratic across the board. Odd

Thl and JD could probably show why that is better but it might be because of how the front 7's are playing us? More stacked boxes and more run blitzes and more penetration to blow up the runs before it starts. Obviously a wounded QB x2 and Mullens would certainly give a DC extra confidence to dictate the LOS.
