I posted about how awfully skinny McGlinchey looked when the training camp videos and photos came out.

You sure did. How the EFF do the coaches not see this and act on it? Like with accuracy of severity of injuries, there seems to be a disconnect here.
We were wrong. NY85 is not David Lombardi. He's really Matt Maiocco.

Here's his insider information:

Via Kyle, name that QB:

"I thought a couple of times, the pocket was bad and he (QB) escaped and gave us a chance to make a play and then there was a couple of times in the game where we picked it up and I think he got a little spooked and got out of there just because of how it was going."

That's my OL

Bout what I figured they'd be. Trent awesome,Tomlinson bad rest ok not great.

Actually your OL would involve a guy rated 54.4 for the season by PFF.

Mckivitz just needs to get better with the run blocking inside. Hope it comes in time.

It would be awesome to see this per game. Who tracks this stuff?

KP does for the most part...Mullens

If richburg is indeed done, I expect them to look at a good center vet via FA.

Basically the same grades overall from the Rams OL throughout the yr lol.

Akash is just a poster like you and me and used to run Niner Nation.

Here's what someone else responded with....

Does this metric measure pass block efficiency or simply just sack percentages? If they consistently beat their man and get to the QB who throws it away quickly, they could still be a bad unit

I'll say this as clearly as I can; stats should provide additional detail to what your eyes generally see. I think it's absolutely laughable that he's calling this OL a top 10 pass blocking unit. Thank goodness we don't **only** observe football blindly through stats.

So because he ran Niner Nation that means he doesn't understand how football works lol? s**t I read/listen to a lot of his stuff and he's pretty knowledgeable too me.

No one is saying that we have some elite OL, it's also not as horrible as fans think. I don't think it's a top 10 unit either FWIW...when fans don't understand protection calls, what the play is actually asking of players, who should have been the first read, what the QB was supposed to do etc it's very easy to point the finger at something...for the most part people in here and on Twitter don't understand the nuances of all of it. I'm not saying I do either...but I damn well know there's more to it. Quantitative Data helps and I agree shouldn't be the end all be all either...

FYI this gets labeled a QB hit/sack on NC's cool weekly QB hit stat lol.

Absolutely nothing to do with the OL.

So you're telling me that there's a s**t ton of variables that can lead to a QB hit/sack on any given down outside of just OL play? Wild

lol. Wasn't there a tweet about realizing how sacks occur. One is bad OL, one was bad QB, and another was (lack of) WR separation? Yeah many variables.

The sacks from vs WAS.
Sack #1
3rd & 2. To the right is a zone busting concept. To the left is a pick/rub to work versus man (the #1 creates a pick for the #2 to go deep). Mullens correctly looks to his left. The pick does not work. Mullens holds on to see if anything materializes. Who is open? No one, imo.

Sack #2 Juice got blown up.

Sack #3
1st & 10, 1:00 remaining in half.
Kyle dials up a deep shot to get into FG position. Tomlinson gets beat here while Mullens waits for the deep routes to develop. Bourne gets open late in the play on his Dig but Mullens is already pressured at that point in the play and is rolling right, away from Bourne. Pass pro is asked to protect for this long developing play and couldn't.

Sack #4
3rd & 12
Tomlinson beat, forces Mullens to roll right. Who is open?
