I've said a thousand times cumulative QB hits are a simple metric and OUR issues are unit pass protection. That extends well beyond the OL...to QB, TE, RB and Arby's.

If you are in the top 5 most QB hits, that means the entire UNIT sucks ass at pass protection (not just the OL).

Hell, I used to throw in pre snap QB protection calls too into that equation until that was debunked recently.

That whole unit falls on the lack of talent (Lynch) and properly preparation (Benton) and probably a complex pre snap shift offense (Kyle).

We know why you're posting QB hits in the OL thread.

NC looking for justification has stooped to Cohen level insight 🙃

For all the talk about low standards, poor play and PFF grades...MM is 76.2 on the year and Tomlinson is 77.2

Until last game, Tomlinson did have a nice 5-6 game run after getting Garoppolo killed for the season. I thought McGlinchey had a nice game in both aspects last game.

What are the splits? We know both are exceptional run blockers for sure. Ranks in their position groups?

Just curious...

Those are the grades on the year, last game included

Right, cumulative. What are the splits?

Yeah, but you said up until last game
Anyways I am going by overall grades as well as sacks given up relative to other RT's/LG's. Earlier this year it was LT-69.3/71.2 MM-89.6/60Now while they may not be playing great this year, neither are as bad or playing as bad some would like to believe if you like to use PFF and sack #s as your benchmark

Lol...wish I had the receipt on that one

not trying to pick on NC or anything, we all use to hate on Cohen and his insight...now that Cohen has thrown out his hate for the OL he's been toss out his tweets like they mean something.

What are you thinking they do at C this offseason? Hopefully get a vet who knows the system like Mack or Linsley for a reasonable deal then draft a guy to develop?

I ask for splits because run blocking is not the issue here. PP is. Although run blocking has been an erratic issue too oddly enough.

Yeah, I really did believe McGlinchey had the acumen to play G ala Alex Boone at one time. But after seeing him this year with balance, weight management issues and regressed technique, no way.

It's moot though because he'll remain at RT and we just have to hope he adds weight and works heavily on his PP technique.

As to Cohn, I post everything that's accurate or neutral and let you decide. Guys like him, Madrid, Barr, Akash, etc. all can have accurate takes and info too.

We all know the real Cohn though but his point is "Troof."

Haha. He does have talent.
I'm not saying the OL suck, But I watch the game and the pocket calpacs and the QB is feeling pressure. After 4 game of DL in you face and taking hit they start to feel pressure that is sometimes not there. The quick passing game help but most of the time when they need to go down the field the QB is getting hit. I do not think they need a hole new OL. But, they definitely need some improvement.
^ I thought Akash wasn't to be taken seriously?
That aside that's exactly what he was/is saying

He's not being Hoov at least not from me.

Misread what you wrote in response to that he said, but I still disagree . He's not saying they have elite OL right now, but they are not as bad as others are saying and can be a top unit like they were last year. I think if they can shore up the C position they can and will get back to last years form

And he actually pointed that out in another tweet

Yeah they have to find out a answer with Richburg and his health...there's cash invested there.

If they feel he's not gonna be 100% again, then give him an injury settlement or cut him. Go get Lindsey and resign Garland he's a quality backup.
^ a team that just got done with a total tear down and rebuild with this much young talent is not going to rebuild
