If there's one person in the FO I do have faith in to ensure we get to a happy place financially is Praag.
I'd love a top FA C if we could afford it and one existed.

Exactly. Trading is certainly the thing these days.

Most QB hits allowed this 2020 season…
— David Lombardi (@LombardiHimself) December 31, 2020
1. 49ers: 73
2. Vikings: 60
3. Falcons: 59
4. Eagles: 58
5. Seahawks: 58
Nailed it.
I'd say it's mostly on the OL, since after all it is their job to block for the QB...

They really have been turrible, at times. Mullens did cause his share though from not pulling the trigger a few times.

That's a pretty black and white way of looking at something that is not black and white. It's a combination of things. but Robert love is an expert so I'll defer to him .

Definitely. And with a backup of Mullens' skill set, he's not going to help much either.
It would be nice if there was a comprehensive tally of responsibility.
Like what we did with thl's gifs the other day where you could see one of the hits/sacks was actually the result of, in order, 1. No receivers getting open 2. T missing a late rusher 3. QB not throwing it away late

I liken it to soccer. It's never the goalies fault. Ever. If the other 10 guys did their designated and clear assignments (i.e. do your job), the goalie never has to make a save.
Now, obviously that's not going to happen every time in the real world but the goal is to minimize those negative circumstances.
That's how Kyle has his QB set up. His C calls the protections so he can solely focus on the defense and executing the play as designed post snap.
It's literally, the unit pass protections job to...pass protect.
Yet somehow that's been changed to a QB's responsibility WHILE focused on executing the play design post snap.
I just thought it was funny because the core of what he said is totally accurate.

Standards!
Kyle Shanahan sent a clear message to #49ers RT Mike McGlinchey about his future, including the offseason decision on the fifth-year option for 2022: ". . . don't worry, Mike, you'll be all right, man."https://t.co/pQexJdjIdd

Offensive line is a bigger need than quarterback for the 49ers. As much as I critique Jimmy Garoppolo, he's still better than Mike McGlinchey, Tom Compton, Daniel Brunskill and Laken Tomlinson.

Yeah...that's a fact. It is telling the caliber of QB we are looking for- meaning an average QB will not do. I'd still prefer a QB with more elite traits but it would actually be easier to load this team up with more natural talent on OL. We will see with what they opt for.Originally posted by NCommand:Originally posted by lamontb:Please tell me this is KS with coach talk.
