yes that is correct, not a scrambling QB. big difference

True. But case in point, you still need that OL to PP for him or you just end up like Seattle every year. Russell didn't eat. He was eaten.
our line now is not nearly as bad as Seattles year in and year out

Russ has no wheels anymore.

Wirfs is the 2nd rated tackle in pff
The bucs have a great o line with a qb with great pocket presence. 🤔

It's just as bad in pass protection but you're right about the run even though we were pretty spotty this year.

Don't worry. Kinlaw will be the 2nd rated run stuffer next year.

thats weird. pro football reference has totally different numbers. we are the worst at 78. dont know what thats all about.

my guess is, somebody's agent is paying pff.

And insert an actual play caller....Seattle has absolutely no plan or play calling. It's literally scramble play drills. They're drafted 6 lineman in the top 100 since Wilson has been there and also spent cash traded for Brown etc....

If you think that's what people are asking for than you've missed the whole point of the discussion.

Look at the Bills.

Because you throw your trash stat in the OL thread acting like that stat is specifically related to just the OL. Yet last yr, it disappeared and we called you out on it. You then when on to point out every variable for the lack of QB hits outside of the OL playing better. It works both ways.

NOW that the stat backups your constant complaint in 2020, it's back in the OL thread and you won't use the SAME context you throughout last yr for better OL play to this yr lol.

At this point it's straight up pointless to have a decent objective convo with you on this subject.

Yeah, Kinsley has his own operational definition of a raw QB hit like PFF and PFR. They ALL are at 31st or 32nd which speaks massive volumes about the lack of talent on the OL even with an elite play caller and play designs to get rid of the ball under 2.6 seconds.

People like NY can include all of the factors in it like continuity of the OL and full pass protection unit responsibility, receivers inability to get open, inability to establish the run, lack of a mobile or decisive throwing QB, scheme, injuries, etc.

This raw stat simply captures the end results of all of it together and it's correlated with teams that go to the playoffs every year.

As it climbs, the odds of you making the playoffs decreases.

Yup, the one year this hollow stat was lower we went to the playoffs. What a coincidence!

But here's to my point on WHY that number was low. This metric virtually confirms that our biggest weakness, pass protection, was still present when in 2019...just like in every year.

It was only hidden by:

#2 in rushing attempts
#31 in passing attempts

In short, it was the same as it's always been but it's MUCH more visible in years like this one where we pass > run.

Lol deleting half of what I said and just regurgitating something you've copied and pasted a bunch already.

Okay good talk.

You're changing the goal posts again. I recall your argument being "guys are just out there playing, it's all just backyard ball with RPOs and just scrambling and hitting guys who are open."

Now we need an actual play caller? I mean aren't those two things mutually exclusive? You want a QB who can routinely execute broken plays on the fly which doesn't lend a lot of importance to a structured play design right?

No actually I never said that...again you keep trying to argue with yourself. You're literally making up stuff to argue about. Seattle has no identity, their play calling is basically scramble drills. NOWHERE did I say that's what I want...if a QB can move to avoid pressure and actually run for a 1st down every once in a while that s**t matters for everything. You can't rely on play calling every play all game. It's impossible. You need a QB that can make plays. I don't care if you have the best OL in the league, the other team will get pressure on the QB at some point. You can't pass block for 3 secs on every drop back all game.

You and NC are so blinded by one topic it's nearly impossible to have a level headed conversation with either of you.

you two can just talk to each other on this topic...have fun.

So PFF matters now...lol make a decision and stick with it...it either matters or it doesn't, you can't pick and choose when it's meaningful. That's for both you!

Oh and no he's not the #2nd overall OT.

Trent Williams was the #1 OT FWIW lol

wirfs was 10th
