As #Chiefs coach Andy Reid insinuated, LT Eric Fisher tore his Achilles last night and faces a long road of recovery, source said. KC heads to another Super Bowl, but it will do so without its standout O-lineman.

Let's see how it goes.
Chiefs starting OL for the Super Bowl:
— Hayden Winks (@HaydenWinks) January 25, 2021
LT Remmers (0 LT snaps since '16)
LG Allegretti (7th rounder)
C Reiter (7th rounder)
RG Wisniewski (cut by PIT in Nov.)
RT Wiley (a UDFA guard)
How much can a mobile QB make up for a talent deficiency?

Why do I have this bad feeling that Mahomes will find a way? Dude is the most talented QB I've ever seen. It's going to be interesting seeing him try to work around this. TB has a really good pass rusher. They've got players across the line.

Yeah we'll see about this. Chiefs also will put incredible pressure on TB secondary. Don't the Bills have a better secondary than TB? I never thought for one second GB had enough juice to contend with Tampa.
It's been a long time since the NFC was this wide open, especially with Brees retiring.
If the Niners fix their damn protection issues and get better QB play while signing/drafting players who don't come with major medical - we have multiple seasons to content as I see it.
I see it also.

He'll start 15 yards back in shotgun, drop another 20 to avoid the rush and launch a deep shot falling back left handed no-look right into the arms of a wide open Mecole Hardman for the last second win.

Facts esp. in last year's Superbowl run...what was that crazy stat? Only 1 holding call their last 8 games including playoffs? Something nuts like that.

How much can a mobile QB make up for a talent deficiency?
I disagree that it was mobile QB. Instead, I would change the statement to "How much can a great QB make up for a talent deficiency".
I believe a great QB, mobile or not mobile, can help hide the deficiency of the pass protection.

How well is he still playing?

How much though? That's the question. As we saw with our own, less than 5.7% was attributed to the QB (1.2% for Garoppolo). I think fans have this idea mobility is going to help an exponential amount. I think the "degree" fans picture in their heads isn't reality becaus eof off schedule highlight throws.
And still, here we are in the Superbowl with 2 pocket passers. Mahomes is only a 200 yard season runner. 54 yards is the most he's had rushing in a game. He, like Brady, Rodgers and Allen do have excellent pocket feel. That certainly is helpful.
But behind an OL failing in PP? All of these QB's struggle and many like Russell Wilson are constantly bounced.

That's my ideal at every position. Seasoned vet training a highly talented youngster the ropes until fully ready to take the reigns of a supremely important position in this offense.
