Whats the rush with cutting him right now? I'm sure the front office is looking to replace him this offseason but it would probably be wise to keep him on the roster until a replacement is found via free agency or the draft. Yes the move will save cap space but they cant technically use that money right now anyways. Might as well keep in just in case something happens in the draft and all good prospects are taken by the time we address the position.

The 49ers' tune hasn't changed: They love Jimmy Garoppolo when he's healthy and winning. Keeping him healthy is the challenge. So it's imperative the 49ers do something about that these next two months. They must fortify their offensive line with reliable, intimidating bodyguards. Pay up. Get nasty. Own the trenches. Stay healthy. Win. It's so simple.

It really is so simple.

Only thing that bothers me about this statement is that we all khow how closed mouth the F.O is when it comes to upcoming plans. And when i hear

"The F.O is starting to give kudos to jimmy,"....i get worried that they just blowing smoke. .Actually i admire the fact their entire plans aren't on the front page of every sportsection across the country, but my preference is to hear SILENCE.from the F.O on plans at QB..

The bottom line is the referees should've called one f**king holding out of 20 and we win the game. Better to be lucky than good. This year's crew of zebras would've given us a win no problem.

The media and league would have to love our QB to give us those calls. Thats why Brady got them this year and we didn't last year.

Its sad, but true

Not to mention a horrible off-sides by KC that was never called in the crucial last minutes that blew up a play.

I'm impressed you know the C in our system makes those calls!

Defensive Coordinators know you have a very inexperienced interior OLine, so what do you do? You confuse the hell out of the interior OLine guys with varied fronts and blitz calls. The fact that they were ranked #9 in run blocking means that it's not that they are being physically weak or being dominated by the defensive line, I think it's more a sign of the lack of mental cohesion you need in pass blocking that isn't there yet. I am really hoping ShanaLynch does devote some high round picks to the OLine this draft, the way he did with McGlinchy in 2018. Specifically a good and talented rookie Center.
Maybe more people will be on board with two O linemen by the end of day 2. Jimmy ain't THE problem.
LOL

And a right tackle who regressed very very badly. and guards who are not very good.

There is a bit of hope...living in denver the Broncos have a tackle Garrett Bolles. He was even worse than MM and was destroyed by the local media. This year he killed it, some how some way, he had a great year. This guy was HATED by the fan base and was all but an afterthought yet somehow turned it around. If Bolles somehow corrected his technique, MM can learn to put on 15-30 pounds and drop his hips.

MM looks to be regressing but if Bolles can turn it around, literally any tackle with potential can turn it around. MM could of thought being more in shape would help his position then realizes anchors need mass and the extra mobility at 290 didnt outweigh the harder to move mass at 305 or hopefully 315. Sh*t just look at Joe Thomas, that guy wasnt naturally that heavy but ate to maintain his value.
