100%. I love what they did, but I would not be mad if we went OT/G at 12 and a Center in round 2. We absolutely need a viable backup center.

Im still in the Dickerson boat. Great leader, great lineman, has experience making the calls in a Shannyesque(shanny's old Qb coach in ATL) offense.

Only concern is injury history.

Don't count out A.Donald's Daddy at RG. He wasn't given a fair chance to compete and keep the RG job he won fair and square in TC last year. He had to move to Center due to injuries playing a new position on the go. It's Brunskill's job to lose imo. He was playing good ball before the move to C.

Keep in mind they only tendered Brunskill unlike Moseley, who they extended. That might be a signal they aren't sold on him as a starter...high quality swing-T and first off the bench at G, 3rd C.

Good point.
Best case for me is draft a iOL in the middle rounds like Green or Morrissey to compete with Brunskill at RG and groom behind Mack for the future. They don't need to spend high draft picks on G/C, save those high picks for best skilled players available where the cream of the crop is.

I couldn't disagree more. One injury to Mack and we are right back where we were last year. C/RG needs to be priority #1, or 2nd round at the latest.

Would you pick Slater over Pitts if they were both there at #12?

Yeah the problem with that is no way you can value a second round backup center over a starting edge or cb. At this point they have no one starting opposite of Bosa and no slot cb. They can not be spending high draft picks for backup players when they don't have starters at vital positions.
OL works together as a group not together as individuals. With the resigning of Williams and the signing of Mack, OL is no longer the weakest group on the team. Don't underestimate the importance of what Alex Mack brings to KS's offense, his understanding of defenses and protection will make everyone's job a lot easier results in better OL play. I wouldn't draft a RG at #12 unless he's a Q.Nelson type of guy.

True, my dream is we keep K'waun and now we're talking super draft freedom!

Oh yeah that work. I agree they need to fill the slot corner pre draft then the draft is our oyster!! Haha

correct. We're looking good today. I'm sure they will invest in the OL at some point in the draft.....I'll be SHOCKED if it's with a top 50 pick.

Very talented player indeed. Has all the intangibles you want. Would be a terrific student under Mack. But yeah, that injury history is something I think ShanaLynch might finally be learning from:

He doesn't want that. He just wants to keep drafting interior line because he thinks it's necessary to have 5 all pros on the offensive line. And then when we can't have because it's impossible he complains about them calls lynch and the niners cheap and says they should be fired. If he wants to be a narcissist then let him be a narcissist

I won't. We will see the Mack contract soon. But it's possible they have all three IOL spots hitting FA in 2022.

It's good that they at least eventually learn from their mistakes.

Like with Trenton Brown, they do plan ahead. That's an excellent point too BTW...hate to be right back to square 1.
