Burford should be playing Tackle not guard. Let Moore play guard

I was listening to the 49ers Rush Pod the other day and he was noting how we love to play players out of positions they proved successful at in college.

I thought

Then he started listing off a bunch of examples. We do take that a bit overboard. Cross training is good for an emergency value come 53 cut downs but not to the point you can't specialize at one position. The NFL is hard enough at one position to learn and master.

Its early in TC, and they might find a combo that works better than their college scouting reports. The OLine is unique in that the sum can be greater than the parts.

P.s. is there such a thing as specialization in a zone blocking scheme? the blocks are, to a certain extent, the same unless you are at the tackle spots.

Are you backtracking now?

We all saw what you've said buzzy. We didn't win the SB so the OL and how it was built was a failure. People in here contested that by saying we made it to a NFCC and SB and you said you don't play to not win the SB. So again every single position group failed if that's what you're using as a metric. Plain and simple. Using your words and now you're trying to deny it.

And it's a good sign that he has held his own without pads and not having Trent Williams next to him. I still believe Banks was never intended to start his rookie season because they only wanted him at left guard and Laken was there. People are just assuming he is a bust because he didn't crack the starting lineup at any point his rookie season.

This is his first training camp ever. I like Rohan but you have to take his stuff with a grain of salt. I love his enthusiasm though.

In a sea of bad reports about our pass protection over the past couple of days. I will enjoy a positive report about our new starting LG.

Not sure why your are pivoting over to every other unit now failing when the topic was you claiming I said OL was the ONLY reason (your quote) but this is what you do...deflect, generalize, minimize, move the goal posts (topic), make up s**t, etc.

But that would be a fun topic given I'm the dude who said the entire team collapses in the 4Q with a guy who can't see anything past Jimmy Garoppolo. LOL

Really there's only ONE starter missing from the OL, Trent Williams. McG hasn't proven squat post injury and hasn't played in almost a year. Brendel has was taken out again at OC and replaced with Brunskill. You said "get used to Trey running" and I think this is going to be theme until like Geidi said, they settle on who the starting 5 will be.

I like this crew because they're also at camp and have been previously: FF 9:37 where they talk about Banks. Gather sources and compare notes for camp.

Nice, thanks. I even picked up on a couple nuggets from Cohn today too. You get something from every source. The more the merrier.
