Banks had a couple good pass pro reps when Trey was playing earlier in the game as well. He did have some not so good pass pro reps also. I like how Brendel looked in pass pro, especially when working in combination with either guard. All of his snaps were clean which is another positive. I think the left side, starting at center, will be solid this year in pass pro. The Overall stength of the O line will still be RBLCKing which I am okay with.
How did McKivitz look in the 1st preseason game?

I'll also add when there were PP breakdowns it was usually one side or the other or just the middle and there were still areas to step up into or run through and I thought all 3 QB's did their best at navigating the pocket. The overall pressure rate seemed high though. Run blocking was standard boom or bust outside but I really liked the inside zone blocking a lot.

The Burford - Banks - Brendel performances from that game are so incredibly encouraging. If they can hit and be a healthy, slightly above average trio, we're probably the most complete roster in the NFL. Even if McG and Skule look like they're poised to make us long for the days of Kwame Harris.
I'll leave it up to the coaches to evaluate how the O line played. They problem is that in pre season games units like the O line and D line rarely face the other teams best players. There is no game planning and everything is pretty basic.

I've watched a ton of football in my life but I'm not able to evaluate a 1st string O lineman against a 2nd or 3rd string D lineman in the first pre season game.

My boy Jurgens looked good. Would have been an ideal center of the future here

he went before Jackson even

we made the right choice. Jurguns was not worth a pick that early imo and id rather have jackson straight up

backups didnt look good at all we are thin at OL but i gotta say the starting 5 im pretty encouraged

We may need to look at the waiver wire or make a trade if someone goes down

I don't think MM will get another contract, but he has never made me long for Kwame Harris. Imagine all our big plays wiped out by holding .

I know, nothing could be worse than Kwame. Except Skule maybe.

This is super concerning to me.

T Mike McGlinchey

The veteran offensive lineman is dealing with some knee irritation.

"McGlinchey, he ended up irritating the inside of his knee," Shanahan said. "The good news is was his surgical repair, and all the stuff he did this offseason was good. But he had some slight irritation in his knee, so we're going to have to be smart with him this week. I'll be surprised if he does anything in Minnesota."

And I was just saying yesterday how impressed I was that he was even playing.

I'm ok with Brunskill at Right Tackle if McGlinchey can't make the 53 due to durability issues. What I'm hoping for is one of the young draftees step up and beat McGlinchey to the right tackle starting spot. Maybe Nick Zakelj? Let's see how he does at Right Tackle if McGlinchey is out for a while.
