Not the most fleet a foot lineman either. Would be a questionable fit.

Well he was a 3rd round pick and has started 10 or more games in 6 of his 7 seasons. 84 total starts. Seems like he could at least be a good backup. If they platooned palyers I'd like to see them do it like the line changes in hockey. That way you have the same groupings playing together. Of course you need enough depth to be able to do that and not suffer a big drop in performance.

That was nice. I've never watched this much guard film breakdowns as I have this off-season.

Nice video & great breakdown. Think they need the experience just as much as Trey Lance does

Niners bringing in free agent guard John Miller for a visit.

PFF ranked him #70 among all guards in the league last year. Their rating puts him at "replacement" grade. That ain't good, gentlemen.

Of course, what we have seen so far ain't so good either.

If he's coming in solely as a backup, that's perfectly fine.

This is the first real sign McGlinchey is going on I.R. too, IMHO.

Does that mean Brunskill goes to tackle?

That's the thought. I hope so. If healthy.

I agree. That PRP treatment was what Dee Ford had prior to his retirement. McGlinchey going to IR is just following Dee Ford's trajectory, unfortunately. ShanaLynch will be less than smart *not* to devote a minimum of 2 draft picks on the OLIne next year. IMO.

Brunskill's been very durable in the past. I just hope his ding isn't something that will last more than a week. He's our best bet now at Right Tackle. If not him, then I can see why they brought some Offensive Line free agents.
That John Miller guy visiting us tells us exacly what they really think about the interior of the O-line.

But but but it was just pre-season right?

Or there's an injury and they need to fill a spot
