For 4 games till he gets hurt

I don't care. Unless you think it's ok to lose vs the Broncos and Rams? He would certainly help. That could easily be the difference in winning the division. After all, we are already without Ward

To lose 10 mil in rollover cap on someone who is such an injury risk yah I don't think that's good use of funds. Only reason you'd consider it is they are confident McGlinchey is done for the year.

Also ask yourself what does Bill know that he'd be rather start a complete unknown like Yasir Durant. Be different if there was an established guy waiting to take over.
Anyone else thinks Mills makes the team if McGlinchey goes to IR ?

Ultimately, I think we'll have a middle-of-the-pack O-line and it shouldn't make a major difference in the outcome of the season.

You still think we're going 11-6 with an average OL?

Possible. He played a ton of snaps the last two pre season games.

If I'm Lynch I am sending a 7th to the Raiders for Leatherwood. 1st round talent and had a rough year. But look what they did with Tomlinson. Plus it is better than holding onto McKivitz

I'd take a shot but man...Leatherwood sounds like a complete joke about how bad he's been.

I wonder if this is the new "you will not believe what happened next"

Maybe you don't know what to look for?

Honestly how many people watch the game and watch the OL play? Until the game film comes out we get the over the top statements.

Happens almost every game. We get "This guy sucked! Bust!" and then the film comes out and the narrative changes...

It was pretty clear that there were protection issues. But until you dig into the film to see the play clearly, it's hard to say who did their job and who didn't on the OL.

he would be a developmental guy. He has the physical tools for sure

he might be better than our current backups though didnt see much of him last year

Maybe 3 fans on this board. That's it. You're correct.

since he will not answer. i will.. no... 8 wins to me. you do a good job of surrounding jimmy with nice skill guys and aside from the team most likely keeping sermon.. upgrade the running backs.... then to take tepid steps to improve the most vital aspect of the game especially with a young qb.... then suddenly wake up and realize after the third pre season game.. oh..... this is not good. we need to work out some people..... well..

Yes.

I see this team between:
9-8
(Trey struggling / bad injuries)
to
12-5
(Trey plays as 10-15th best QB in the league, injures not catastrophic)

Confidence by unit:
QB - medium (lots of short drives, good and bad)
RB/FB - medium-high (it doesn't really matter who's back there)
TE - high
OL - medium-low (above average in run blocking, below average in pass blocking)
WR - high
DL - high
LB - high
CB - high
S - medium-high (w/ Ward) or medium-low (w/o Ward)

There are maybe 3 other rosters I would feel this level of confidence for (BUF, LAC, TB). I still feel we're below LAR until Trey Lance proves to be equal or better than Jimmy.

Totally fair. It's crazy how just a couple plays is the difference between 9 and 12 wins.

I'm still optimistic about the season regardless of the Issues with the OL.

I think the defense will help get us through the first part of the season, until Lance and the OL settle down through the mid-way point.

Overall, I think It could be like last season with the offense having Issues early on before we see the team hitting their stride around week 8.
