Well.. we can't be any worse than the defending champs, right?

Perfect example actually. They've been the #1 ranked OL (Bucs too) and they both had big losses to their OL this off season. Stafford and Brady are going to struggle this year as a result. Book it.
so they just got lucky.. no OL preparedness

Rams did it to themselves (retirement, FA losses). Bucs had some big late key injuries. Both QB's will face similar challenges as a result IMHO.

elite OL + elite QB is the only to win it all.

Really? Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Joe Flacco were not elite.

I'm just repeating what someone else was saying.

Ah, my bad.

Recent Superbowls.

But absolutely, you can win them with an elite (even historic) defense + average QB (Wilson at the time, Dilfer, Johnson, Flacco, etc.).

That's a great formula as well.

Why only elite and average?

There is a lot of room in-between.

Only if it's a clear annual issue and possibly related to the overreliance on that position group within that system via volume and complexity.

I see you. I hear you. Counterpoint would be look we have Trent Williams. Their LT retired. Ours is 99 rated in Madden and very much active.

Damn straight!!! Silverback!

Add to it that the ONLY O lineman the Rams have drafted over the past 2 seasons was a 3rd rounder this year on a guard who tore his ACL and MCL in week 2 of the pre-season.

We've drafted 4 over that time.

Are you suggesting the 9ers have prioritized the O line more than the Rams have the last 2 seasons?

It's almost as if, hitting on prospects and FA's is more important than "prioritizing" or acquiring high volume or spending high draft picks on OL.

We have prioritized the O line over the past 3 years. So far it has not shown to have panned out the way we would have liked it to up to this point. But Lets give Banks and Burford a chance to show us what they have this season and keep an eye on how we address center and RT next off season.

Bingo. Don't care how you do it; just do it.

you can prioritize the hell out of something and still suck at it.

you can also take a half-hearted swing at something and knock it out of the park.

Lately they have done one thing, and we the other. Though from what I was able to catch of the game last night, that may not be as true as I thought.....
Rams center is out 4 weeks getting ankle surgery…report is it's scheme related
