Not bad for the worse OL in the NFL

OL is a mess

WRs can't get open down the field

Kyle doesn't like to attack the sidelines

Lotta narratives struggling all the sudden

They've gotten better and better as the seasons gone on.

It looked horrible on paper before the season and was slightly less bad than expected to start the season.

They have gotten significantly better.

I think it only looked horrible for us keyboard warriors and armchair gm/coaches.

exactly

it was inexperienced and a ? we didnt know if it was a weakness.

It looked good from the start were some miscues due to lack of chemistry and inexperiance hence why it got better as season went on the only really bad game was against the saints where they were dominated (i think the short week coming from Mexico had something to do with that)

Purdy still took some big shots. Let´s not act like the O-Line is the Eagles´s one.
On the CMC TD reception, it could have been a disaster for Purdy and the Niners.

those are on blitzes though so it isnt abnormal for a QB to get hit when they are more rushers than blockers and on that CMC TD while being blitzed he was able to get 30+ yards downfield so clearly blockers did their job

That is not what I saw. I saw Burford not blocking anyone and Brendal and Kittle whiffing on their blocks.

What a change to see three of the five OL listed among the highest-rated 49ers players.

The shuttling of Burford (75th out of 86 according to PFF) and Brunskill (28) continues which surprises me as Burford is not showing much improvement. I get that he needs time to develop but at some point protection for the QB takes priority.
Burford is a tackle. They need to recognize that at some point.

So is Bunskill although he has the versatility to play both positions. Burford has had 562 snaps to date. At some point, he should be showing more improvement.

I'm not advocating they bench him. When the time comes to make a future decision on McGlinchey, they will need to have options to replace him if they let him leave in FA. Maybe Burford moves back outside at that point.

Another solid performance against a good team.

We've played some tough defenses. Bowles is a stud esp. at attacking those A gaps. As you could see.

Lol. There wasn't a single person who wasn't concerned about the OL...plenty of receipts out there too. Ha.

The pass protection (unit too) has been so much better this year. The only real concern for me is MM when it matters and the quality of shots our QB's have taken. Lots of free rushers and I'm unsure why that is each time. That's playing Russian Roulette.

Then again, we've got 3 quality QB's.

Need a center who makes better line calls in 2023. Sorry Saleh but McGovern is coming back west.
I know they want to get Buford reps, but Brunskill looks much better when he is in.
Its a guarantee we aren't winning the SB this season. Our O line is only ranked 8th according to pff. Only the #1 ranked O lines win the SB.
