LMFAO!
We'll just win with FG's! LOL
LOL.
Irelevant to this year. We've got McKivitz, a RG with a 40 grade and a left handed QB.
I think Moore might be the guy at RT
That's this years DL. Note the DL/LB picks.

You are aware those are 2 of the most talented and deep fronts in the game, right? Overstocking their lines is what they do. They don't draft punters and kickers instead.

Both of those teams gave up the most YAC, now they have rookies filling in. We beat the girls and we weren't afraid of the Eagles.. half a second away from dropping a deep shot to take the lead..

I'm really disappointed an OT wasn't chosen today. Hopefully tomorrow, but my hope now is they find a gem in the next 6 picks. Not very happy with free agents Feliciano (round 4) Ismael (round 5) and Pryor (round 6) -- hope Foerster can do miracles. My hope is that if the 49ers pick an OLineman in the 5th and 6th rounds, they are hella durable, and can eventually develop into a quality starter in a year or two.

I don't think it's particularly strong at tackle no. Probably still get a guy in the 5th that wouldn't be that far off from who we would've taken here.
Again I would've taken Wypler.
Move Burford to tackle. Always been the right move.
Ignoring no depth at corner is once again worse then passing on a tackle. At this point I'm used to it though.

That would have been a quality pick too. Of the players we were connected with, only 3 had gone off the board (Morris, Steen & Bergeron). These guys were all still available:
Blake Freeland
Jaelyn Duncan
Warren McClendon Jr.
Nick Saldiveri
Ryan Hayes
Braeden Daniels
Joey Fisher
Kilian Zierer
Jordan McFadden
Trevor Reid
Jake Witt
Henry Byrd
It's just not a priority for this FO. It's just not. They certainly get it for the DL but for some reason, OL is just way down the priority list and it'll continue to cost them annually (unit PP).
I'm 100% behind you on that one. But it'll never happen. Foerster sees his guys pretty specifically in those G and T buckets.
I was stoked for you on the first pick. But truly, as to CB, only 1 was off their board. Here are the other top choices they could have made over a PK:
Clark Phillips III
Tre'vius Hodges-Tomlinson
Kei'Trel Clark
Mekhi Blackmon
Darell Luter Jr.
Rejzohn Wright
Lance Boykin
Terell Smith
Oh well. But looking at the DL's we're likely facing to get to the Superbowl, what's cost us in the past and our looooooooong QB injury history, I'm not sure how fans can be feeling good about justifying not making the OL a top priority in terms of adding and stockpiling talent esp. with two QB's coming off injuries.

None of those tackles interested me that much. Just get a developmental guy late and take one in the first in 24. I just don't see anyone that would've made a difference this year to be too upset about. Also vet guys still out there that can be productive as either starter competion or swing.
Corner is another story. Still not sold on DeMo.

Agree, not really a happy camper right now. I really wanted that right OT to replace McGlinchey in the draft. Looks like I have to hope they get a decent one in the 6th and 7th rounds (long odds there) and even longer odds in undrafted free agency this year. They needed to shore up the QB protection considering Brock's injury at least. Maybe they think they got good OLine value in their free agency? I don't know. Hope McKivitz is up to playing all 17+ games this season.

Don't mind me,....just here for yearly influx of tears. (Although we didnt have a pick until the late-3rd range anyway, and although i've said countless times that our draft strategy is swinging for the fences instead of high, "safe" picks)

Save for an abominable year of injuries, our Front office has given us a top 5 or so roster year in, year out with whatever methods they are using.
This is certainly not the time to halt what they're doing and fall in love with high OL picks. They're probably perfectly content with finding Trent's replacement in a low round or as a high grade FA take.

Our center is fine. We got good depth there as well. RG is developing and is far from bad. I know how much people hate the word "development" but at some point you gotta let it happen.
based of what Lynch said yesterday about trying to trade Mike…I'm telling ya they like Colton a whole hell of a lot more than people think. I hope they draft multiple lineman because I think there's value there when we're picking. Don't be shocked if they don't grab a OL with one of those 1sts 3 picks.

I love how you automatically upgraded the Eagles D-line with the unproven Jalen Carter, but then our D-line with the proven Nick Bosa, Arik Armstead, and Javon Hargrave is supposed to be what? If Drake takes a leap, I'm confident with how we match up against their O-line.
With that said, I feel better about our interior against the Eagles interior unlessJalen Carter essentially becomes Hargrave. I also feel better that we won't be counting on KInlaw and don't have to worry about the Eagles O-line pushing him around like a tackling sled.
Last year, the staff was confident in Jake Brendel and turns out they were right. They were confident in Banks and Burford. Right again. And this is with the team slipping in terms of run blocking, but our pass protection went up and we scored like never before (consistently) in this offense and this is with guys who had very little experience (our killer Bs of Burford, Banks, Brendel, and Brock).
I think people underestimate the value of elite QB play. KC has a great O-line, but it's Mahommes that is making that team go. Mahommes had them in the Super Bowl with far worse O-line play in 2020. As for us, I'm pissed we didn't take a a an offensive tackle. I wanted Morris bad, but surprise, surprise, KC beats us to the punch. I still think Braeden Daniels is the pick for guard in the 5th, given how many times we met with him, which would be a good move. For tackle, maybe Nick, but given where he was played in the Senior Bowl, does the league even see him as a tackle? I think once Steen and Morris were gone, we missed the boat on drafting a tackle. And in all honestly, I'm willing to give the team the benefit of the doubt with McKivitz, based on what they did to upgrade the O-line last year. It's just what is behind him that scares me. I think with another good pick (Daniels), we're good at IOL with returning, young starters, and lots of depth guys that can be developed and push the guys ahead of them. The cupboard seems very bare at tackle and I don't see very much that can be done about it sadly.

There are vet tackles out there. If they aren't gonna move Burford to T then sign off of them after Monday.
Yes Lifelong elite QB is vastly underrated in this thread. Mahomes was an Arden Key falling differently away from having a Jimmy injury. Had to make up for abysmal protection in the AFC Title game.

Brock wasn't injured because of O-line. And floating this narrative that any of our QBs got hurt because of O-line is just false for this year. Knowing the protection and Brock stepping up in that perfectly clean pocket probably changes history because he would've hit an open Aiyuk.
With that said, I'm totally with you on wanting to get a RT. Even if we got Morris this year, I didn't expect them to beat out McKivitz this year, but they absolutely would've been ahead of Colton in year 2 and though unknown, I'd trust a rookie more than Jaylon Moore right now.
