This is the 49ers issue (one of them, but a big one)...pressure and unit PP fails when it matters most (playoffs). A young Purdy did a solid job given the circumstances but you're not winning a Superbowl with line play like this.
Did we improve or will this be ground hog day in the playoffs again?
PS: I didn't even note the run blocking woes either but they usually go hand-in-hand.

...the Cowboys brought the heat, pressuring the rookie quarterback on 48.5% of his dropbacks, which is a career-high.
You are correct....We are not winning if we lose all our QB's to right side blitzing safeties. Last year we had a tight end kill us without a RT looking out for the Eagles best pass rusher by calling time out or shading over to pick him up. Maybe a bad play call but horrible outcome. Still have PTSD on that one.
Yup, it's not that hard to see after all these years (with the exception of a few fans still). You watch that Cowboys game and Kyle knew his OL would get destroyed, hence all the quick routes and screens. But the Cowboys were all over those too. You think Reid had to do that against Philly? Nope. He had a top 2 OL.
If the actual goal is to get WIN the Superbowl, this is a big area that needs to be improved esp. during the playoffs. Not just for our QB but for Kyle, the play caller as well.
Perhaps it has??? Let's find out. But if it hasn't, expect ground hog day all over again.
