Back to my only serious fear for this year, O line. I am watching the Cowboy's playoff game and we are 17 unless McKivitz can improve over MM from last year. The o line did pretty good in the 2nd 1/2 but the first it was bad.. 17 until they prove better.

True. At least this time we know there's potential higher talent (Banks, Burford). We'll see with McKivitz (suspect, IMHO). But in the past, we had dudes like Compton, Brunskill, Garland, Person, Brendel, etc. starting playoff games. You're not winning a Superbowl with that limited talent.

I wonder with the lowest ranking an O line has on a Superbowl winner. I doubt it's lower than 10. Watching the Cowboy's game Brock was being harassed the whole first half. The second half the O line was great with the run however only mediocre on passing plays. The D carried us that game. I just can't figure out why the org did not prioritize this issue.

Exactly who was out there that would've been a big upgrade on OL this off-season? Org has invested a lot in the OL over the past several years with draft picks, it's time let them play.
I would still be looking for teams who need something we have and trade. Though it's probably too late they should have been looking the last 2 years. They have ignored this for too long.

Hope they are ok with what they got but after watching the Cowboy's div round game its not looking good. As you said we shall see, Hope I'm wrong....

You could always see Brandon Thorn's end of season rankings and then his playoff rankings going in but the winners are always top 5 (usually 1, 2).

There's no question it's a philosophical team building perspective. We know they'll invest some but never strive for an elite OL (same with the passing defense) like the Superbowl winners do. John and Kyle believe they can invest more heavily elsewhere as Kyle can scheme around OL issues with quick-open YAC monsters, CMC, <2.5s play calls, motions, PA, etc.

It's certainty worked for them so far but again, the playoffs are where this issue shows up esp. if the opposition can stuff the run. That's game over.

Is it good enough?????

Thanks NC I was wondering what that stat would be...The niners Superbowl winning teams has great Oline's hopefully they can scheme away from Oline issues. We may be the first but against top teams it does not look good.

The OL will get a great test right out of the gate against a pass rushing top defense in Pittsburgh. It'll be the first true test. 🙏

Would you start Brock?

This is another one of those threads, though, where we can't really talk about the subject, because someone's constantly pitching the same exact product over and over until they get enough bites, lol.

The OL is strong, probably one of the better units in the game, provided Trent doesn't fall of the cliff with skill regression. You start the best healthy available QB, without fear of the opponent. I would love to see you NC, as a NYJ fan, in the NYJ forums. They are going all in for a SB, with Becton, who is the Kinlaw of OL, and a turning 38 year old Duane Brown. Give me your thoughts there, compared to SF. They have a 40 year old QB and no tackles.

NYJ's aren't doing squat. He'll turn into Stafford (LA).

Pittsburgh is going to target McKivitz. As they should. And the A gaps. I'm actually excited to see how they do!

2nd or 3rd would be very fair. But that combo of top OL + QB clearly is the winner. Better than QB + Secondary thus far.
