oh, moving the goal posts..

how many teams are in these tiers ?

2. Sometimes 3. For instance, only 2 are in the OL tier 1 this year. 3 on defense (including SF). Sometimes just 1.

Last year it was 2 OL: Eagles and Chiefs in tier 1. Chiefs got no lower than 3.
whats this years, Hoov mentioned Det ?

Where are these tiers coming from?

This year to 'start.'

Tier 1:
Eagles and Lions for OL
Cowboys, 9ers and Steelers for DL

All will be reevaluated mid season and again going into the playoffs.

do you think it's wise to post pay sites as your source of truth when you don't read the entire articles because you, admittedly, don't ever pay for pay sites?

Well it's about the "non-threatening" pressures that KC allows,...you see. Leaving 270 lb NFL linemen unblocked can be non-threatening to your QB and your passing game. It's all about "nuance" and "craft."

But....whether we agree or not, hasnt the backbone of the argument been that we need to invest more capital in the OL and have it as a strength when the year begins?

He can easily handpick the teams that have heavily invested in their OLines "now",...can't he? Why rely on who turns out to be good @ year's end,...then pretend afterwards that he had the foresight to know all along?

By saying "To Start" = You've thrown everything you've said about how we need to be day 1 in the trash. Funny thing is he doesn't even realize it.

Everyone here wants a "Tier 1" OLine by season's end,...whatever the hell that is.

I mean he can stop at any time now,....because there are at least 30 graves he's dug himself on regarding this topic that he really doesn't have to dig. There's a new grave day after day,....but let's just pretend like this isin't happening and there's a legit argument on both sides, I guess?

Do you need to pay to see the free tier 1's listed every time? LOL

Also, follow Brandon. He usually reveals a ton.

The 'pay' portion is used for specific weekly matchups, FF and betting. YAC would benefit from it as he uses a similar formula.

It's hard to argue against their expertise and history.

Did you read their assessment of why they have them in tier 1?

Would that be enough to elevate Goff to playing at a tier 1 level as well? Highly unlikely but he did have a nice second half of the season IIRC.

Might just be me, but if this is my source of truth and the basis of my whole argument, I'm going to make sure I read up on everything within it. Everything I've seen with Thorn and the tier rankings , pre, mid, end is all pay

If ya did that you might read a comment where he says a tier 1 o line is not required to win a SB.

Personally 49ers better have a top tier offensive line by the time the playoffs come around. Those edge rushers that populate the NFL playoffs scare the beejeesus out of me. Brock isn't the biggest guy out there and if he's anything like Bob Griese (Brian's dad) who is similar in height and weight - Bob had some injuries that affected his career. I don't want nothing of that for my Franchise QB, if I'm Kyle.

Of course not. You need both. Why is this so hard to understand? LOL

Is it possible Goff gets hot at the right time and plays like a tier 1 QB through the playoffs? Sure...we've seen it before. But it's unlikely too.

I've listed them all here. They all contain the tier 1's and their rationale why.

Like with the DL, I'm waiting for the day SF enters tier 1 for the OL.

But is that ever going to happen under ShanaLynch?

Unlikely. So we pivot to your theory...QB making up for a tier 2+ OL. Let's hope you're right!
