+2. QB and Secondary will continue to be the issues that loom larger than OL just as they have the last 4 seasons.

It's damn near impossible to have any sort of good faith discussion with him…especially on this matter. It's all bad faith arguments which gets old lol

He'll never want to give this up no matter how wrong it is.

Cowboys are a team that's constantly made sure they have a good/great OL. Much good that's done them.

Hence, why you need *both*

Do you think the tier 1 Lions OL is going to carry Goff to a Superbowl? Of course not. But it certainly gives him the best shot to play up to his ceiling.

Yup, a great offensive lines allows the QB and others to play up to their potential.

A terrible offensive line destroys even the best franchise QB's.

Impossible concept for some to grasp now in a QB-only world. Thanks Madden and PFF.

LOL
Lol, stop. You can't even grasp it. Like with your steady changing the narrative every time your words bite you in the arse

My "narrative" has been the same since watching Joe Montana and Steve Young get murdered and drift off into retirement.

No one has ever argued that. The issue we all have is Command thinks if your OL isn't tier 1 they are terrible. There's no middle ground.

Still waiting for him to take your bet

I'm still waiting for all of you to take mine.
You can't counter a bet, you need to bet or say nope I'm not going to bet on what I repeat for years and years

Likewise.

Guess week 1 should be a resounding Lions victory then no? KC not having an elite OL and all.

The modern day Superbowl winners have proven having both is the best odds. If there was middle ground every team would be in the hunt. You need both if the you want the best odds.

Granted all the other stuff football is made up of
could derail that as well (injuries, defense, coaching, etc.). Even if you have that.

The teams in the hunt are the ones with the best qbs. If Goff doesn't play at a top 10 level this year it won't matter how good the OL is. Mahomes will always give KC a chance.

Lions? Goff is a tier 1 QB now?

Those "best QB's" all fell off a cliff the second they didn't have their tier 1 OL...Brees, Brady, Mahomes, Stafford.

It'll likely happen with PM again this year too because he no longer has that tier 1 OL.

But to your point, he is a first ballot HOF QB so he can certainly help offset more the any other QB in the league. But win it all without his tier 1 OL? Unlikely. I'll go with his own history/patterns.

Honestly don't see that from him. The argument is they should always be striving to improve the line to be better, but its one area aside TW they haven't and its now been 7 years of this.

Apparently they wanted to upgrade Center this past offseason, but nothing materialized so they settled back on what we already had. I get it, it happens, but they almost never draft linemen high either. It just seems to be the same routine every year. Our starters are far from terrible, but I am not seeing them invest like they should.

Bingo.

I'm still not dismissing the current group either. There's always an outside shot they move up into that tier (hopefully going into the playoffs) but a betting man wouldn't take those odds based on investment.
