Man, number one thing we have to do is stay healthy. The teams healthy through the playoffs are usually the ones with the best chance. We're very far from the season end right now. We have the team, if healthy.

We've been so close so many times it hurts. Then again, it's been like that for many great teams.

I hear you, one game at a time my friend.

So far so good!
I was watching JTO's video and came across something I thought was worth bringing up. On the play where BA catches the back shoulder pass from Purdy. 45 tries that same spin move from earlier in the game on McKivitz again and he was ready for it. Shut 45 down on that play.

I think the first drop back I saw burford get destroyed lol but they are definitely improving. Next week is going to be brutal.

As others said, next week will be a big test. They've done well so far. From the highlights, the OLine looked great. McKivitz gave up a sack, we'll see once I have time to view the replay - how he really did. But the 49er offense really dominated on the ground and air. When that happens usually the OLine also dominated the opposing DLine.

The only poor snap I seen from McK was the one where he gave up the sack. Dude put a great spin move on him to the inside. Still, we are definitely going to need to give him some help against Parson's next week.

Exactly. Very happy with how they played yesterday esp. the run blocking. Without that, Brock doesn't get the chance to only throw 20 times, completing 19. Incredible! The is Kyle's perfect winning formula.

Agree. Reviewed the replays and was very happy with the OLine performance. Yeah McKivitz gave up a spin move sack, but that's correctable. Especially when you can face off with Nick Bosa in practice to correct those techniques. Good performance against the pass rush and good in run blocking. I feel good about the OLine going into the Dallas game and against Micah Parsons. 19 out of 20 pass completions usually means the OLine dominated the opposing DLine, and the film shows it.

That run game key's Kyle's offense. It unlocks those passes in between the LB's and the DB's, which is Kyle's bread and butter pass plays. I love how Kyle's pulling Trent to be lead block on the runs to the right!

McKivitz has been getting better since that horrible performance in wk1. Let's see how he deal with the Cowboys' quick defensive front Sunday night.

It can't be worse than this... can it?

He sure has. Arrow has definitely been going up. If he has a good game against DAL, I will be super confident the rest of the way.

Brendal played much better as well. McKivits was schooled on the spin move, but that's a learning experience right? Sometimes you just have to tip your hat. That guy got TW real good too. I think he will continue to improve his footwork and he looks to me like he can add more mass to his frame.

I would say after 4 games Burford is the worst PP. First three picks better be T, G, CB, C with no order preference, just BPA.

Hopefully the 2024 OLinemen crop will be strong, or at least deep enough to get some players when ShanaLynch drafts in the 2nd through 4th rounds. At minimum, there should be a drafted understudy for Trent. Ideally, one understudy for Trent and another Talented developmental OT to give McKivitz some competition.

I hope Zakelj gets some playing time to show off if he can handle the center position and give Brendel some competition at center. Burford and McKivitz have to continue to improve. The Dallas game will tell us where both are, as well as the whole team in general.

He corrected it in game.

This. Absolutely give credit where it's due. And yes, this should be the litmus test.

NC I am struck by NYG getting demo'd last night, and they have been investing in OL like crazy. Any thoughts? I know they are dealing with a lot of injuries, that may be the issue up front. It was brutal.

On the subject of tiers, I think SF would be top tier at this point. Near or at top tier.

As you should. He went from the weakest link to our 3rd ranking worry (if that) behind Burford and Brendel.

Brendel is a good one

Well, investing a lot doesn't mean you've invested correctly.

Yeah, as to tiers, I could easily see rising up the 12 in tier 2 quickly, at least in terms of production.

But be careful. Fans are complaining about Wilks because teams are getting rid of the ball so quickly the DL is almost obsolete. Our offense does the same. Runs very well (credit to the OL here too) and Brock has nearly the fastest time to throw release. That can mask the actual talent on the OL and help make them obsolete too.

At some point, the talent level will need to stand on its own when the formula isn't working well. And this weekend will be another great test into seeing the truth.

Brendel is a good one

He is but he's had some struggles to start the year for sure especially in his strength area (pass protection).

look at some of these blocks, look at the combo block on the home run CMC TD
and then you have complete team blocking to finish it off
