Yup, plays a decent QB! 70+ air-yard TD's! I've seen it!

As you should. He went from the weakest link to our 3rd ranking worry (if that) behind Burford and Brendel.

Brendel is a good one

He is but he's had some struggles to start the year for sure especially in his strength area (pass protection).

After the first 1/4 of the season last year, Brendel was ranked in the mid-20s of Centers. As the season went along, he moved up to #17.

Right now, he is #28, with an overall grade slightly below last season. His PB rating is 41, which is awful. Definite improvement is needed there.

No doubt. He worked so hard on his strength this off season. I think that must be helping in RB but he's seemed to have lost some technique in PP which is his usual strength. Like you noted, he might just start a bit slow and gets better with time as his conditioning takes him above his talent level while the opposition wears down as the season progresses?

where are we getting these rankings ?
so far I'd give the Edge to Mckivitz not just because I'm biased af but because he hasn't really had consistent penalties that end drives or stall us. **KNOCKS ON WOOD** which I think is a big part in helping us average at least 30pts per game.

Agree, he's a step up from McGlinchy - and still improving.

Olumuyiwa Fashanu
Career Recap: After two years of development, Fashanu broke into the starting lineup for Penn State in 2022 and put togetjer a tremendous debut. Fashanu was viewed as a potential first-round pick for the 2023 NFL Draft, but he decided to return for his fourth season with the Nittany Lions.
[...]
Skill-Set Summary: [...]
As a pass blocker, Fashanu has an excellent skill set to be an edge protector. He is a big offensive lineman who has very good length and strength to entangle defensive linemen. When Fashanu gets his hands into a defender, they are pretty much done because he shows a superb ability to sustain his blocks. Fashanu uses his long arms and powerful upper body to keep his assignment from breaking free. His natural power and size leads to a strong base that will negate bull rushes as well. After sinking his weight, Fashanu holds his ground and does not get driven backward into the quarterback.

Beyond his size and strength, Fashanu has good quickness and athleticism. He fires out of his stance, showing quick feet to get depth in his drop to cut off the corner from speed rushes. Fashanu is agile on the edge and is able to redirect when rushers try to cut to the inside. With his overall skill set, Fashanu should be a good pass protector in the NFL, especially after receiving pro coaching.

In the ground game, Fashanu is not a finesse left tackle who merely ties up defenders. He can create a really push at the point of attack, where he uses his power, thick upper body, and leverage to knock defenders off the ball. Not only can Fashanu push around defensive ends, but he is impressive when taking on defensive tackles one-on-one in the ground game. As a pro, Fashanu should be an asset as a run-blocking left tackle who can also be a good contributor in short-yardage situations.
[...]
Fashanu has the potential to be a franchise left tackle and should become a quality starter early in his NFL career.

Last season we scored 20 rushing TD's. After 4 games so far this season we already have 9. Our run game has been lethal. Especially in the redzone. Our run blocking has looked top notch.

Well LOVE the TDs but once again....bad connection here.

Without viewing the specific team and both years' results from it in depth .. that increase in rushing TD rate could very well be primarily due to an improved passing game and/or defense that gets you down around the goal line over and over again.

Having a great rushing offense doesnt necessarily lead to a high rushing TD/game rate, or vice versa.

Maybe the run blocking HAS been lethal... but the rushing TDs would simply be a parasitic dependent variable and is not at all indicative of good run blocking or a great running game through 4 games.

Just as a quick example,... Comparing the 2.25 TD/Game ratio to 2,000 yard club members while in their rushing offenses:

OJ Simpson: 0.85 TD/game
Eric Dickerson: 0.88
Barry Sanders: 0.69
Terrell Davis: 1.31
Jamal Lewis: 0.88
Chris Johnson: 0.88
Adrian Peterson: 0.75
Derrick Henry: 1.06

Perhaps not-so-incidentally, the highest average on this list is is the one that resulted in Super Bowl success.

But that one guy doubling another on such a prestigious list simply reinforces the obvious: This stat is a team success stat, not a great rushing offense one.

There are 7 guys @ 1.0 or better right now in the NFL... which bests this entire list save for 2.

1 of the 7 is CMac @ 1.5. if he continues to hover around there, it'll be a safe bet that we're continuing to win games.

Foerster on McKivitz. 🏹🏹🏹UP for the entire offensive line according to Chris.

How would you evaluate OL Colton McKivitz? The numbers seem to indicate that he struggled a little bit as a pass protector, but it also shows that you guys are averaging like 4.7 yards a carry running behind him. What does the film show?
"I know he's doing a good job. He's had the bad play. The Pittsburgh game was an outlier. We left him alone and he fought the best fight he could and he lost some battles. And obviously the guy had a good day and he got beat once on Sunday. And the rest of the day he had a really good day against the same players. And so whatever, I don't know the evaluation process and how it goes, he's not graded any better or any worse run or pass. Obviously, you'd like to not have the sack he gave up. But he did a bunch of really good things in the game as well. Everybody's got room to improve our whole group up front, we have room to improve. Obviously, Sunday there were some nice things in the protection game. We had a good game and so on and so forth, but there's just still, we have so much work to do to improve and Colton's part of that process. He has to get better, [C] Jake [Brendel], all of them do. They all have work to do. [T] Trent [Williams], all of us,

best OL ?

Nothing like a guy with great rhythm
All of a sudden according to other fan bases, 49ers have an elite o line which is why purdy is having so much success. Sure they've been playing better, but elite? No, only Trent is elite the rest are average.

This is cool to see. Not surprising we love running off tackle in a wide zone and to the left, esp. in the A gap.
