Haha. When did this XFL QB become a "49ers NFL Insider?" That's in his bio. Thanks for posting though.

All of a sudden according to other fan bases, 49ers have an elite o line which is why purdy is having so much success. Sure they've been playing better, but elite? No, only Trent is elite the rest are average.

Exactly why the "eye test" is not a good way of ranking players, units or teams.

Eye test is relative, in a lot of ways.
The 49er OLine really did well against that putrid Cardinal's defense, so in a sense - they were *elite* against a really bad team, if that makes sense. The problem with the eye test with regards to AZ is that they are a bad defense and any average OLine will look good against that team. A average OLine vs Dallas, will be destroyed, in my opinion, as a counterpoint example.

This is cool to see. Not surprising we love running off tackle in a wide zone and to the left, esp. in the A gap.

In addition to more beef on that left side vs the right (i.e. just bigger dudes) Brock is right handed and it's a natural throw for him to fake left and sprint right for a naked boot pass. Versus Brock faking right and sprinting left, and throwing left, it's a bit more awkward for a right handed QB to do that, and might slightly affect his accuracy to that side.

My dream 49er OLine would have Trent 1.0 to the left, Trent 2.0 to the right, and Banks stay where he is, and have another Banks at Center, and Ilm Manning at Guard.

We do the same exact thing that other fan bases do.That in affect gives us a very skewed view of our team vs the rest of the NFL. So the eye test really isn't that relative because it is too subjective and not very reliable. In order for the eye test to be relative, it would need to come with a set of data to back it up. Which is exactly what the advanced statistics companies get paid to do. 🤣

The "eye test" only matters if it's a SME (e.g. a trained and educated eye).

Sites like PFF are not trained eyes on what should be happening but on what did happen within their defined schema.

This O line will probably keep getting better as the season progresses as long as nobody gets injured. We focus on pass protection and run blocking but avoiding false starts and holds is another important factor.

member when you use to say "but they have a YT channel" as if it gave that person more say ?

glad you now have dismissed that.

i mean, that's what our pal NC does with other teams

But if other fan bases are thinking that, maybe the QB does transcend the OL

And only if you read everything that sme says for full context instead of cherry picking.

Lots of guys do it. How you get someone arguing Orlando Brown would've made a huge difference when he's gonna get Joe Burrow killed.
The O-line clearly is not a problem, we are winning with the line as is.

Oh believe me, I've been reading him for years. And how much is to read in a Tier 1 breakdown "...for context." LOL.

He is certainly not playing great ball right now. But that doesn't mean he didn't play great ball previously. Hell, look at Laken Tomlinson. He's a great talent and should bounce back once fully acclimated.
