PFF grades are useless. However, you cannot find better O line stats anywhere else.

Might be able to find them at Brandon Thorns site. Sadly we will never know.
Banks is 4th best LG at pressure rate and the 9ers are running for a boatload off LG but he's 56th of 63 guards.

They are kind of like a sundial - good general direction but no details.

I laid his stats out in comparison to last season in his thread if you all want to check them out.

I am seriously curious how two grading services can be SO far apart.

I've watched him a fair bit and he just does not appear as solid as he was last year. That's my eye test. Tomorrow will be a good test.

Seen a lot of strong run blocking and few pressures over there. Not sure what more he can do. Certainly not gonna buy there are 50 guys playing better.

Burford is a different story.

As you should. He went from the weakest link to our 3rd ranking worry (if that) behind Burford and Brendel.

Brendel is a good one

He is but he's had some struggles to start the year for sure especially in his strength area (pass protection).

After the first 1/4 of the season last year, Brendel was ranked in the mid-20s of Centers. As the season went along, he moved up to #17.

Right now, he is #28, with an overall grade slightly below last season. His PB rating is 41, which is awful. Definite improvement is needed there.

Earlier I was advocating for two tackles within the first 3 rounds but I've switched to getting two IOL after taking a tackle first. We can get some really elite players, especially at center if its prioritized.

The irony here is its the same grading system...PFF.

I think he's improved a lot too. That left side is legit. That said, it's odd he's ranked so low compared to his peers by PFF at the same time.

Like I always say, esp. with regards to the OL, the genius in PFF is there is a stat for everyone's narrative.

It's better to rely on the SME's.

Or watch for yourself and make up your own mind.

You posted another site in the offseason that rates OLine which made more sense. I stopped paying too much attention to PFF after Warner had an amazing game and was rated at 40%. I think it was following the steelers game, can't remember.
