That's not to say IF they all were healthy and rolling, they do have elite talent and ability. It just hasn't been a reality in a number of years.

There is. They're in tier 1. Not many though. I haven't seen more than 2 in that tier 1 in a single year.

I wouldn't praise that approach yet given unit pass protection CLEARLY has been a big reason they haven't won #6 after 7 years of team control.

Hopefully this is the year though.

I can think of a couple bigger reasons.

It's crazy that people still don't see the difference between Jimmy and Purdy. The reason was freaking QB. If we had Purdy during these last 5-6 years we would've definitely won at least one SB.

Jimmy was a trade. Teams don't trade franchise QBs like Purdy, Brady, or Montana while they are at their peak. One reason Jimmy was let go is because he wasn't as good as Brady. Still, even Trent Dilfer won a Superbowl with a good OLine and defense. Point being, a good OLine makes things a lot easier for even tier 2 QBs to win games.

But perhaps this is the year your claim becomes a reality. If so, we'll be able to adjust the parameters.

Lol what??

A crazy dawn like this is what I envisioned last night...

You mean like with Fred Warner's drop-off this season right? How'd that work out for you last night? LoL.

Mine is based on reality. I said I'd happily join you in your theory that you don't need a tier 1 OL, but a tier 2 + tier 1 QB once it actually happens. And I'm sure it will someday. In fact, it plausible.

But until then, stick to the higher probability and proven formula.

This is new (I stopped @ the underlined part).

But it's funny that you only say this once our OLine plays a great game vs. a team known to have a great pass rush.

I mean this can't possibly be a mere coincidence -- and not a way to avoid giving our OL their current due credit and say they might be Tier 1 -- right?

The call and response, you have to admit,...is entertaining...

You need a Great Tier 1 OL to win.

:::Our OL Unexpectedly Plays Great:::

Ok then,...maybe you don't need a Great Tier 1 OL to win

the question I have do you win cuz you have a tier 1 OL, or do you win and then get moved up to tier 1

If you want to deny and ignore that Fred was playing below his capabilities before last night, that is your prerogative. Just because he showed out last night and played at a high level doesn't negate the fact that he was playing below average in the first few weeks of the season. Last nights performance is what I expect of him and when he isn't playing at that level, I am not afraid to call it out. That goes for every player and coach in this organization. Its not a coincidence that when Fred and Dre finally turned it up, this defense looked like it was championship caliber again.
When they rate you as the #1 LB in football...it's pretty damn easy to play below your capabilities. That doesn't tell me much regarding how he was doing.

It's like Tom Brady. We can say he played below his capabilities for most of his career because he has 7 rings instead of like 18.

I can't really argue against the point,....but....lol what are we doing here?

I did go and search for your opinion on Fred's game thru the 1st 4 and I simply couldnt find anyone saying such. I found the opposite.

So again...if anyone agrees with what you were saying or have made a note of it,...please share.

He really did. I noticed that as well. Good sign.

Guess what? I am going to continue doing what I do. If you don't like it, put me on ignore. Otherwise, STFU and go find someone else to harass.

I'm afraid to ask. LOL

Goff is starting to agree behind that tier 1 OL.
