Jimmy Garoppolo had a 10 point lead in the 4Q with 7 minutes to go.

And Patrick Mahomes >>>>>>> Jimmy Garoppolo

You need both (until proven otherwise).

all credit to Mahomes but chris jones is the main reason we didn't win that game

Well Chris Jones road graded Mike Person, is what really happened.

The defense gave up 21 points in 5 minutes. That's not helpful either. LOL

1 of about 15 reasons we lost that game.

The point (and formula) stands. Tomlinson was poor, Staley was about to retire, Person did retire (neck), Garland (LOL) and McGlinchey (big game stud)...meh.

Playoff refs just don't call a lot of penalties. Lessons learned by Kyle, for sure. When the 49er DLine is neutralized, the back end is exposed - unfortunately.

Take McGlincy out and replace him with McKivitz and offense scores an additional 23 points!

Haha. That's one way of looking at it.

Yeah, I'm unsure if ShanaLynch "get that." I know 9ers4eva agrees.

Well, hiring Wilks, and drafting Jaire are good data points that Kyle's somewhat tweaked his draft and philosophical priorities. In other words, Kyle may be finally rebalancing the defense to have much better personnel at the back end. Still not at the level of priority of the defensive line, but hopefully making a more concerted effort to get more talent on the back end. I'm impressed with Wilks and his coaching up of Deommodore and Ambry. My hope is we can retain him for more than two years. Hope hope.

Taking a certain player out and replacing him with another might do that. Not sure it's McGlinchey/Mckviitz tho

Yeah, PM was so exposed behind a tier 1 OL who had given up the least sacks in the league (yes, he's a big help there too).

BUT they were exposed. We all saw it. If the 9ers rank as a tier one OL at end of year but play like that this postseason you will spend all offseason talking about it. But with the Chiefs you pretend it didn't happen and point to one dudes ranking at end of year as if that mattered in the playoffs.

There's a standard for the 9ers and a standard for 31 other teams.

Drated Brown in the late 3rd. That's a far cry from using a 1st or 2nd on a guy like they have done for the OL.

Not really. The standard is only lower with about 5 fans in here. And as to Trench Warfare, had SF been tier 1 (going into the playoffs), they would have been ranked that accordingly bumped up against all NFL teams.

Like I just showed, YOU have 1 standard for 2 QB's who played behind equal "average at best" OL's. And the results were exactly the same.

You need both.

You can explain it until you're blue in the face, provide all the evidence one would need to win in the court of law. NC will never ever admit to it when he is wrong. You might as well just put him on mute.

Well, here's some stats I've found,...

In 2023, according to PFF, McGlinchey's grade is a poor 49.4, and they've already credited him with two penalties and two sacks allowed, which would put McGlinchey on pace to allow 17 sacks this year. He's also allowed a metric ton of pressures thus far in 2023.
