Ditto, and logically speaking there is no reason not to. The team is absolutely STACKED at nearly every other position. I wouldn't be disappointed to see the entire draft focus on OL and DB.

Honestly, I would love to upgrade every position on the oline, with the focus on finding elite run blockers, especially at the center position.

But... rookie offensive lineman take awhile to develop usually.

We're in win now mode... I'm not sure spending day 2 picks on the offensive line, a position we've struggled to scout, would give us back immediate returns.

I think we would be better served by drafting secondary and interior defensive line. Because adding an elite outside corner/run stopping slot with coverage ability would change everything for us.

Its the same argument that was made ad nauseum on here for years.

"For years" was exactly why we needed to keep drafting and stacking talent. We annually had numerous injuries. OL were dropping like flies and TW wasn't getting any younger and guaranteed to miss games that would cost us games. Relying on the Tom Compton's wasn't exactly a winning strategy. In this system, depth was even more critical. We'll have to see if they do just that this year and start stacking talent so we do have depth. Just because most don't have great depth doesn't mean you can't esp. after 7 years.

All 32 teams need to keep "drafting" and "stacking talent."

"We're deciding this year to stop having injuries",...said no team, EVER.

So what are we really saying here? It just seems like a way to deflect from the OP's point.

The three biggest needs, in order, are OT, DT and C. I just don't see this team spending a first or second round draft pick on CB, particularly with how well Lenoir has started playing. While Hargrave and Armstead are both good players, they're also going to both be 31 next year. The issue is this draft is pretty thin at DT, I hope they can find a DJ Jones type player after the first two rounds.

McKivitz has started playing well, but you have to start looking at Trent Williams' age and recognize the complete lack at depth at OT. But truth be told, they're going to have bring in a Center. You can find some really, really good ones later in the draft.

And ignored for years to today

Which team has done so in 7 years?
I'll admit we don't have a great backup LT,...lol. Curious to know the teams that do?

Used to be every team but the 9ers.
This draft looks heavy on RT talent, especially at the end of the 1st round. Can McKivitz hold down the LT?
I think I should get 50 bucks if it's Chiefs Niners in the Superb Owl.

NC, you want to buy another team in for an extra $25, lol?

It's interesting that the supposed benchmark here are 14-22 without their RT. Guess they didn't stack talent efficiently.
Why are they giving opportunities to Burford if Feliciano is clearly better and we are in Super Bowl or bust mode?

I agree wth your assessment we need to be heavy on the OT and Center in the draft. We can probably find a decent Guard in FA. The only other glaring need I now see is LB. When Greenlaw is out the flat is wide open. Teams know it and don't stop attacking it. Our depth is weak there as well.
