Purdy wasn't our guy prior to this past offseason where they didn't have a pick that would've gotten what people think is so easy to find in draft. Now that he's clearly the guy I expect a tackle in round 1.

Certainly won't be a DB. Only thing I know for sure.

I've broken this down before. It goes against their trends but there really isn't much room elsewhere besides O line. Yes we can take a DT, but said player is playing maybe 30% of the snaps at best. Could take another corner. WR- no. RB- God no. TE- no. Edge- if they sign Young no. If they don't, sure. LB- no. Safety- no.

For the first four picks, OL should be 2 of them, with the 1st round pick definitely being OL. And given what we have, if we drafted two guys that were average run blockers and pass protectors, that's automatically an upgrade.

It'll be an OT. That's where the talent is gonna lie this draft.

I'd love for this to happen. But I agree with NC, this front office has prioritized DT/DE's more than Olinemen. I'm betting they pick *one* offensive lineman and then do the free agency thing again with how they got Pryor and Feliciano. They *should* invest at least two picks on the offensive line squad this next draft, but I don't have a lot of hopes for that, considering this past year - the offensive line was in dire need of some talent infusion and they didn't even want to spend a low round day 3 pick on one.
we need a RT,RG, and Center

try again, I'm saying McK and Jake and Feliciano are pretty suspect, particularly the right side, RG and RT
fair to ask if we should have made OL more a priority in recent drafts
the prob in here is NC is right in terms of OL being a weak link
I can admit that I was debating him and thinking OL wasn't the top concern, I think this was coming into the year
the prob is some folks can't admit that the OL is an issue, our QB was legit benched for fear of him being ripped apart last night

All good man. Glad you see the light. No point in debating with the final 2. Pride is a b***h sometimes. Ha.

Glad you guys understand football and love the niners. Your both good posters.

NC It's not over but our fears of ground hog day unfortunately are coming true. Just hoping something changes but not as optimistic as before this game.

Hey, why not? It's good to be Faithful. It'll happen someday! The lessons will be learned if this isn't the year.

Yes sir I concur I've been a Faithful before I was into women

I hope we do it next year, if not this one.

I expect them to be competitive to keep Chase or take a shot at Bosa #2. AA and Hargrave make DT moot. It's gonna be an OT IMO.

once we go down the left side of the OL we fall to NYG tier
complete turnstile and that's when QBs start getting hit and RBs can't punch it in on the goalline,

Once you lose 2 starters and a backup you look terrible? Imagine that.

You guys mock real deficiencies with quips. Reality is our C is ok, our RG is a weakness and our RT is certainly not a strength at RT, let alone LT. So 3/5s of our OL is between mediocre and suspect.

True. Not to mention he ignores this OL is always getting injured annually. Only the names change. Well, some names stay the same.

Injuries to Trent is entirely foreseeable. He's been injured in the latter half of every season since 2020, I think. Guess who they picked in the 3rd round this year - a TE.

That chaps my hide too....

Yes but we did have some mid round picks we could have used to develop O Line. Now we have to develope after next year's draft to be ready later. Unless we luck out in FA we may have two years to see improvement. Purdy will take up a lot of the Cap after next year, we need younger cheaper options from the draft. Imagine if we did not have TW what we would be, Purdy is not infallible when being constantly harrassed.

Williams Banks and Brendel are gonna start. Draft a tackle rd 1 to compete with McKivitz and a center and tackle to develop. Finally convert Moore to guard where he belongs and he competes with Burford. Either bring a vet FA or give Manning a shot to compete at guard.

We need them to be good players you mean.
Need to bring in Collins to play RT if he's healthy enough so we can make a run this year

He's not a good RT. Guard only.

Done!! And fixed. .
Do we have to have the worst offensive line of all competitors every single year?
