Imagine if this team....
* Drafted a RT in the 1st round.
* Drafted a RG in the 2nd round.
* Singed a pretty good FA Center.
I got 16 - 1 next year. Maybe a chance for 17 - 0. We would be indestructible.

It's only good if the value matches the pick. Don't slot positions into picks.
They will have money to sign Young or make a move for the other Bosa. No other money. Not anyone worth signing anyway at C.
Still need a cornerback.

I'm fine with signing Chase Young to an extension if he will do it. That's great. But I'm also fine with upgrading especially RT and RT. Another CB or DT would be fine. We have other needs. But could you imagine this team with a powerful, deep offensive line. It's the only thing we lack on offense. There is nothing else.

It does. The point I was making was that the 2012 team lacked a good secondary and the 2019 team lacked a good OLine. Hence the losses. The point relating to the Dynasty years is simply the difference between the losses and the wins. If you look at most of the super bowl winners since 2019 (for example) I don't think any of the super bowl winners have had significant weaknesses on either the Defense, offense or the special teams. These squads on both sides of the ball were solid at minimum. The point referring to the Dynasty years were examples of teams that were solid through and through - hence 5-0 in super bowl games.
Cap and free agency *can* erode teams talent - *long term* - but not necessarily short term. Teams (for example) can load up and make a super bowl run. Example the Rams winning a super bowl recently. Cap and free agency makes dynasty level teams difficult to maintain long term, but it also means that (as KC is doing) they can reload easier and KC, next year will be probably where the Ravens are this year in the AFC.

Even without a tier one OL. Imagine that.
Don't need a Tier 1 OLine to win the super bowl with the talent the 49ers have in the offensive skill positions. Having said that, a healthy 49er OLine is pretty darn good. Trent, Banks, Brendel, Feliciano and McKivitz are up there - in the pretty good/great level. The problem has always been injuries - not so much the talent. You can't have Mike Person playing right guard against Chris jones for example. Jimmy was a Teir 2 QB (in a sense) plus an average OLIne in 2019 - so you got the super bowl loss. Purdy is a tier 1 QB (for lack of a better description). Our current OLine is - I think - when healthy is just a step below Tier 1 by smidge.

Overstatements galore. IDK why there's a natural assumption that every draft pick is going to be a helpful player.
Players are drafted,...not positions. The hope is that a balance is struck, and it looks like that is possible this coming draft @ tackle,...but that's not always going to be the case.

All of these guys are recent picks that should still be on their rookie contracts,...and all are either out of the league or holding on by a thread.
So let's stop drafting positions. Tell us who we should actually draft at those positions so it's more than hot hair.

Sure take the best available player always. But if a real quality player is available I would not hesitate to pick Offensive Tackle for example. All else being equal. Trent Williams is getting older. But imagine if we keep him like 2 - 3 years more and upgrade our RT to a big, powerful, athletic high draft pick. This team would be unreal. I never liked Leatherood BTW and think he was over drafted.
The guys you listed are mostly off the field problems, drugs, or injuries BTW. But Leatherwood was always overrated and not that good. Choose wisely at any draft pick.

Haha. I bet Mahomes wishes he had him back though. Strip sack city today. Chiefs just aren't the same. Like I predicted without that tier 1 OL.
also, being division winners and making the playoffs are not the same as last year? Lol

IDGAF about a stats, or who's available at what spot, or how much cap space there is or is not, or even how many draft picks we have….FIX AND BUILD THE OLINE FIRST FIRST FIRST!!!
We have to solidify the Oline if we want to win championships, period.

Haha I still dont know of the OL is "bad" as predicted or borderline-Tier 1 as predicted. Anyone have an answer yet?
Or do we wait for that and all of the other yearly post-predictions to be released around SB time?

I would really like to upgrade this offensive line if possible. It's one of our weakest spots. We don't have many other weaknesses.

I'm guessing it's 50/50 - if the 49ers win a 6th 🏆, Trent's going to retire. Personally, if I was ShanaLynch, I wouldn't assume Trent's going to be available in 2024 and go into the draft going for three possible OLine picks. One high, one mid, and one late day 3 pick. They have the draft ammo to do it because I'm almost certain Anthony Lynn will be a HC in 2024. Possibly with the Raiders or Washington. That's more draft compensation for the 49ers to invest in the OLine.

They really need some offensive line. I hope they don't keep neglecting it. Imagine a right side like we have on the left side. 16 - 1? 17 - 0?
It's possible I think.

An All-Time great tackle on the right side to go with Trent on the left would be stupendous!
