The formula is broken, so there can't be a winner now

The formula never determined a winner in the 1st place. QB, defense and HC are way better indicators of team success in the NFL than O line anyway.

nope.. i've been told the last 7 years, you can only win with the ever changing formula .. so technically if it's broken, there can't be a winner

Sad take when all of these ranking are noted BEFORE any playoff games are even played. Then reviewed after the games to see how the trench rankings held up. And in this case, it's 3-3. You don't seem to track either. You fit right in here.

This. It is, and always was, complete nonsense. No matter how hard someone tried to continually adjust it when it didn't fit to try and claim some nonexistent victory, it was always just a way to try and justify an OL is the only way narrative. Over the years it was sacks, then QB hits when sacks no longer were applicable, then it was pressures when the other 2 were no longer applicable, then it was non threatening pressures and now it's OL tiers….which has now shockingly morphed into OL + QB + DL etc etc and whatever other caveat one can throw in on the fly. This is just the newest fad that someone has latched onto that they think makes them look right,

He still has the Lions to root for
PHI someone needs to go back in time and tell them they have a tier 1 OL, they dropped back an injured Hurts all game with no AJ Brown
what da heck were they doing?
I think the brain drain got PHI; lost both OC and DC, lost a slew of starters also, then lost health at playoff time, not weeping for em, just doing a breakdown

I will have to say Dallas was suppose to have a top 5 QB and Defense and they lost. QB is the most important but you can't have a terrible OL and win it all .

DAL is supposed to have a great OL tho

There just wasn't anything to fear in the passing game and the card on Hurts coming in was he was the worst against the blitz. Todd Bowles was probably the very worst DC he could have faced. He brought blitz pressure from EVERYWHERE. No excuse. The OL lost their 1v1's too though. There was one point when they panned to Jason Kelce on the bench and he was like, "WTF, man." LOL

Tampa has drafted a lot of D front and they got after it. The safety was a lil hilarious, that was 3 man pressure, and Hurts walking himself into his own endzone. Pretty dumb play.

Dallas got whipped in the trenches too.

You can usually tell right away too. Chiefs and Lions instantly established their OL with run/pass protection and went right down the field and scored a TD on their first drive. You can see the LOS move.

He was running right into pressure too. This is why you need both playing at that level together through the playoffs.

Defense starts with the defensive line. They perform in relation to the opposing offensive line. So when you say defense - built in there is the play of the opposing offensive line and how it performs against your defensive line. Brad Thorn titles his thread/blog as trench warfare for a good reason.
