Anyone familiar with the draft KNOWS that this is not how it works.
I've said they need to go BPA OL, idc if its T, G, C, all of those positions can use an upgrade.
**IF** (big if) that Trent is back for next year - I'd go with Center. I love Brendel, but considering McKivitz is playing pretty well as a first year offensive right tackle starter, I'd like to bolster that Center position with a dominant center that is both smart, durable, and physically dominating and athletic. You saw the tush push, and how the Eagles dominated games with it. I can see that with Purdy and his Quads and a dominant center. If you can run up the middle on an NFL defense - it opens up a ton of things for the offense.
Next, I'd like more depth and competition for McKivitz and Trent. So definitely two tackles is also what I want. Maybe a first round level player and the second one would be more of a day two pick.
Center? most of the gripe is coming from the right side. so the obvious choice is to draft to upgrade the right side. But hey we might have RT/RG already in Manning and possibly resign Feli
I never take anybody's word. Now, I do give them the benefit of the doubt - the first time they say or promise anything, but I don't ever *rely* on what anybody says, I watch and see what they *do.* And so I've found out that's the safest way to deal with people. One reason is I can't read minds. I'm sure you can , but I can't.

Not a big if at all. He's said that he's coming back.
I disagree on a day 2 pick. Secondary still needs more talent and a DT could also be in play on day 2. 2 lineman could be fine but not both tackles on day 1 and 2.

Well somebody says to me, I'm not going to throw a fastball at your face, I'll go - let me put on a catchers mask first. But yeah, I'll still let him throw to me.

49ers have about 11+ draft picks in 2024 (according to google), so thats a lot of picks, two of them going to the offensive line isn't too much to ask.

IF it's something important (for example) like financial matters - I'm not just going to believe what anybody says. In Kyle's case, if Brock Purdy goes down, it will hurt him career-wise and financially. Look at all the coaches that have lost franchise QB's, Bill Belichick being one of them. Job Security for Bill went out the window when Tom left. I hear Belichick is looking for a job right now.

It's real simple, Trent is aging. He says he'll play next year. But, He's been rarely healthy in the latter part of the season these past couple of years. If I was Kyle, I'm not relying on his say so, and I will invest in a draft pick or two on the offensive line to be groomed behind Trent *just in case* Trent changes his mind. REAL simple. ABC. 1, 2, 3. Hope that helps.

Perhaps you can put a short list of all the NFL Offensive Tackles that aren't aging so we can do a side by side and put this topic to bed.

One reason is I can't read minds. I'm sure you can , but I can't.
Well somebody says to me, I'm not going to throw a fastball at your face, I'll go - let me put on a catchers mask first. But yeah, I'll still let him throw to me.
You just randomly believe folks when they promise you something when it's has to do with something important like your job or your income?

Any two tackles ?
+1

Next you'll say when you advocate for changing the whole offense to a spread attack to fit the limited QB you didn't actually think the scheme was bad.
