The goal should be to build a fortress OL like Green Bay has. Love had forever to throw on a lot of their passing plays.

This "fortress" stuff is a complete after-the-fact fabrication based on 1 game. At least, according to Brandon Thorn, we've been told.

He had them as the 11th Overall "Postseason/Playoff" OLine overall....and had us as 5th overall.

But a game where Brock was off and things looked ugly and now the 11th overall OL is our new 'barometer."

Emotion doesnt equal sound analysis.

Its like having a great team matters or something.

Exactly. And anyone who says that all SB champs don't have weaknesses, don't know what they are talking about.

How many 1st rounders on their O line?

5. All top 3 picks. LOL
Go Bucs tomorrow. I want to see the fantastic spin on how NC was right all along.

haha if a line like Green Bay is the goal then that cancels out a 1st round selection @ OT.

So no 1st rounders on the OL, most of it 4th round or below, and a starting tackle that competes for the Mr. Irrelevant spot. #Ever-changing Goals

You can just see his ass spinning tonight and grasping at straws. He doesn't know what to do with himself after they pulled it out. Even when they win he's got to try and ruin s**t

CB is huge. Also the entire right side of the OL needs to be overhauled.

Agree 💯%
Dude just doesn't know what to say. Too many contradictions either way he goes. Hilarious stuff seeing him squirm.

LOL. And make Foerster open full competitions and not just award dudes the starting roles before competition.

Yup, give Foerster some talent vs some lemons. I'd love for a Trent Williams 2.0 on the right side to compete with McKivitz.

We can dream but give me a top half starter there, I'm not greedy. It's insane, on third and long almost every time you see dominos fall from right to left one after another with only TW stone walling his guy

They haven't given up a sack in two games against Dallas and the 49ers and have only given up two sacks over their last five games total.

With all due respect to Thorn, their OL has played incredible considering that they had to install a new left tackle after the season started and had a lot of moving pieces overall. They draft OL well and develop guys the right way.

Yah Brock was just off. Pressure or no pressure.

I think the rain was a much bigger factor than I thought it would be. It affected both teams, but I think it affected us more.

True. Brock played in panic mode, poor feet work, accuracy (grip), rushed, etc.

But as to the OL, you can see a massive difference between the two teams. Love had 13.5s on every throw. Brock looked like he was playing inside a washing machine full of rocks.

I don't know too much about the green bay line, but they definitely did a good job against our DLine. Not much the 49ers can do to upgrade the OLine for the next, game, but next year - hopefully we shall see some new OLine blood coming in.

I think Kyle sometimes is just too aggressive - and needs to get conservative in those high stakes plays. Brock escaped with a couple of dropped picks. Glad he saw the light and ran it in with CMC on that goal line play and go ahead TD. Next game, I'd like to see more CMC runs vs Brock passes if the weather is bad.

Kyle even put him in shotgun like 50 times to give him extra time and space and it still didn't matter. I ducking hate losing the trenches. It just turns the team upside down and makes us have to win left handed. Credit to the Packers too though. They balled. OL was just 1 of the 18 issues tonight though.

Rain affected the whole team, and it looked like the 49ers OLine was affected by the rain too. Biggest thing the rain affected was the QB though. Brock and Shanahan have to get Purdy accustomed to the rain gloves, if anything for next year - if not for the next game. (if the weather is wet)

My peeve with the OLine is it's just too small if you want to have a solid drop back passing game. I saw the OLine get pushed back into Brock too many times for my taste in the Green Bay game. It Happened in the Raven's game too. However, a smallish line makes sense if your offense is based on the outside zone run. Kyle is going to have to think and do is best to tweak the OLine for some sort of balance between a drop back passing game and the zone run. How? I don't know. However, a bigger OLine, I think might be the answer.

We aren't getting Trent Williams 2.0. Not drafting 29 - 32. But we can get a starting RT. McKivitz immediately becomes good depth. Get a guard or center in the 3rd. Id make a fortress for Brock.
