Something all but two posters understand.

That being said, the first half, we got destroyed in the trenches, second half the o line played well and gave Purdy the opportunities to make plays. When they failed he used his legs. The D line played better second half, but still incredibly suspect from what we expected.
Also a lot of fans keep saying no Tyreek this time, their offense isnt nearly as deadly. This is very true, but Mahommes has matured and will dink and dunk us to death. He also had Kelce who is an all time great. Those two alone will kill you if you dont do it properly.
On the flip side we ain't got no Jimmy G this time! Purdy is proving incredibly better. We will find out if he has that clutch magic in two weeks.
Wilks should keep you up. There is no more bland boring DC on this planet.
Spagnulo accentuates the Chiefs talent by maximizing their abilities. Wilks minimizes our defense by doing nothing to maximize. Soft zone with standard 4 rushers. Rinse and repeat.

Double the guy. Key will be Kittle moving and just hitting him while Brendel/Banks/Burford stands him up.

Honestly I think they can do a decent enough job on him.
The real question is what's the plan for the blitzes. That's where the pressure came from yesterday.
Run the ball and use C Mac and Kittle in pass game. That's the key.
If the 49er protections can pick up the blitz or call the right plays (sprint rights, moving pockets) those KC blitzes can backfire on them. Key, in my opinion, is the OT's handling business one on one so CMC or Kittle can be an outlet or pick up the incoming blitzers. Spagnulo is one hell of a DC, but when we last played them, it was Jimmy G. that was at QB, now we have a QB that can spot those and make them pay.

Chris Jones is the #1 defensive player in the NFL in my opinion. He's more impactful than Donald right now. It's going to be tough.
Agree 💯%, very much like Aaron Donald, but on a much better team.

He is the difference maker. Can also burn them with his legs.

No need to cancel him out with TW right? Its def a weakspot for us but I mean they must know its coming so hopefully they have a plan that works.
Yes! I noticed a lot of delayed blitzes by DB's from Lamar's blind side and all those blitzes really worked. Lamar was so locked in all season and looked then like he reverted to his old self.. so weird.
I think their strategy was let the d-line do their thing while keeping their lanes, but send that perfectly .8 second delayed guy in to wreck his reads and hope to get a mistake/play etc. The constant pressure worked.
I think the x factor for us in this regard is Purdy can actually move around and scramble if needed. That being said the early pressure in the game definitely affected Purdy.
For sure. The key with Jones is to keep an OL locked on him at all times, even if he drops depth so he can't knock down all those 3rd down passes. We saw a couple of those yesterday. Brock was hit and it lead to an INT Jimmy-style. We absolutely can't afford a TO this game.
In addition, Jones looked to get dinged up some too.
Yeah, the added pressure left us with just 7 points. You can bet your ass the blitz pressure will be coming.
Spagnuolo is excellent at attacking weaknesses on an offense at a level Reid is at attacking defensive weaknesses.
This is going to be an epic matchup of X's and O's and micro adjustments throughout.
Keep in mind they have Hutchinson and Omenihu - they also have to be kept away from Purdy. That is a good DLine. But Chris jones is a big problem for the 49er OLine, for sure.

I dont have any "aggregates" or "formulas" to respond. Only the updated, barebones truth on how all 3 anointed "Tier 1" OLines did:

Half the formula was almost right. Meanwhile the two teams he was sure couldn't win a SB are in the SB.

Yeah, but the pressure came from inside, I believe, and that's how Chris Jones disrupts offenses. I'm looking for Chris JOnes to try to knock down those 3rd down slants again, so Purdy's going to have to throw a bit deeper and/or maybe a better play call - like a screen or an out pattern to Aiyuk/Jauan.

Yeah, if it's going to be a track meet kind of game, Purdy's going to have to match Patrick score for score, and pass for pass. I don't think you can stop the KC offense, unless you have a Raven's level defense. 49ers defense simply has to slow him down and have Brock just keep scoring on that KC defense and staying ahead and score on the last drive of the game to seal a win.

I know. A Wilks plan sometimes feels like a no plan.
Yeah, kudos to the PP holding up and RB when needed in that second half. Even when it collapsed, Brock still had at least an escape lane to run through a few times for those critical 50 yards!
Brock is a tier 1 QB. You can see by half, why our OL is tier 2.
