Your OLine generally aren't going to overpower the Lions DLine if they are number 1 run defense.

Lions were absolutely blitzing. They were also stunting and varying how they attack. Amazing what coaching can do to help a defense. Conversely the 9ers just rush 4 and have lbs sit deep and allow for completion upon completion underneath

If the 9ers had Aaron Glenn I'd be much more confident in the SB.

I don't know if I've ever seen a team dominated that much in the trenches only to turn it around bipolar in the second. Just. Odd. Did the Lions just run out of steam while we were rested? I just can't explain it, honestly.

It was just crazy because it felt like there was pressure on every single play. I haven't watched again other than highlights yet, but I remember thinking Purdy is getting pushed and rushed in the pocket every play and they can't stop the Lions. The entire first half we were completed outcoached on both sides of the ball worse than I've ever seen in the Shanahan era.

What does PFF say though? LOL

Pretty sure they are saying Brock transcended the OL.

Lol wtf? This is the opposite of what I recall.

OFFENSIVE LINE OF THE WEEK: SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS The 49ers' offensive line combined to allow just nine quarterback pressures, including no sacks and two quarterback hits, on Brock Purdy while clearing the way for Christian McCaffrey to average 4.5 yards per carry.

No need to cancel him out with TW right? Its def a weakspot for us but I mean they must know its coming so hopefully they have a plan that works.

Yes! I noticed a lot of delayed blitzes by DB's from Lamar's blind side and all those blitzes really worked. Lamar was so locked in all season and looked then like he reverted to his old self.. so weird.

I think their strategy was let the d-line do their thing while keeping their lanes, but send that perfectly .8 second delayed guy in to wreck his reads and hope to get a mistake/play etc. The constant pressure worked.

I think the x factor for us in this regard is Purdy can actually move around and scramble if needed. That being said the early pressure in the game definitely affected Purdy.

For sure. The key with Jones is to keep an OL locked on him at all times, even if he drops depth so he can't knock down all those 3rd down passes. We saw a couple of those yesterday. Brock was hit and it lead to an INT Jimmy-style. We absolutely can't afford a TO this game.

In addition, Jones looked to get dinged up some too.

Yeah, the added pressure left us with just 7 points. You can bet your ass the blitz pressure will be coming.

Spagnuolo is excellent at attacking weaknesses on an offense at a level Reid is at attacking defensive weaknesses.

This is going to be an epic matchup of X's and O's and micro adjustments throughout.

I feel Kyle can match, we just need to identify and adjust right away. Wilks had me tossing and turning last night. It would not be surprising to see him tear wilks a new a....hole

That being said, the first half, we got destroyed in the trenches, second half the o line played well and gave Purdy the opportunities to make plays. When they failed he used his legs. The D line played better second half, but still incredibly suspect from what we expected.

Also a lot of fans keep saying no Tyreek this time, their offense isnt nearly as deadly. This is very true, but Mahommes has matured and will dink and dunk us to death. He also had Kelce who is an all time great. Those two alone will kill you if you dont do it properly.

On the flip side we ain't got no Jimmy G this time! Purdy is proving incredibly better. We will find out if he has that clutch magic in two weeks.

Yeah, if it's going to be a track meet kind of game, Purdy's going to have to match Patrick score for score, and pass for pass. I don't think you can stop the KC offense, unless you have a Raven's level defense. 49ers defense simply has to slow him down and have Brock just keep scoring on that KC defense and staying ahead and score on the last drive of the game to seal a win.

That's the thing. Our o line has great plays, then terrible plays. It would be nice to have more consistency but Purdy's mobility certainty help deal with that at times.

I will guess kc will force Purdy to beat them but not sure how much he will blitz. They will see how well the front does first.

our defense needs to turn in their best performance of the year in order to win for sure. Just a few punts could be the difference.
C.Jones is the key. Just double him all game long and use RB's to chip him. That man is a future HOFer that singlehandedly destroyed our offense last time we played KC in the SB.

Agreed, that dude is an animal. He shows up on the crucial downs consistently. Its impressive. I think a run heavy PA short pass game is the way to go. Keep mahomes on the sidelines and eat clock. I don't care if he ties it in 2 minutes. Do the same 7 minute drive again. In the second half their defense will be gassed and then just keep doing it. The problem is this usually happens to us now lol

I read the best way to counter pressure if the line is weak is play out of the gun. Purdy has been doing good with that. I hope Kyle has like 3-4 plans ready for these guys.

Can't see NC and Geid's post.. I'm guessing they are getting all giggly over how we're going to lose

Command is just trying to spin things as if he was right all along when every one of his takes failed miserably.
It read like he was making fun of PFF for not assigning sacks to any of the O lineman. Sounds like someone doesn't know what a coverage sack is. Both of Brock's sacks were coverage sacks.
Feliciano isn't the answer. Definitely need to loom for a starter in the draft.

Yeah, he had played well up to that point but was getting pancaked in his own backfield last game. Man.

He's all we got right now vs KC. But key here is we're much healthier on the OLine than KC is on the OLine. I think KC lost a starting OLineman to a pectoral injury. He's possibly out for the Superbowl. Omenihu is also lost for the remainder of the season.

He has gotten pancaked a few times this season.

True, they lost Joe Thuney which is a big loss for them. We couldn't take advantage of the Lions key OL Injuries so I don't expect it here either though. Omenihu is a really big loss too for them so that too helps. It's our year! From health to the way the ball bounces, it's been our year. 1 more to #6!
