Big Boys will do work in the Super Bowl. Let's give them 30+ run plays and shoved it down their throats and keep KC offense on the sideline cold.

That's the goal.

Win the coin toss. Defer. Defense forces a 3 and out. Score a TD first and own the TOP. Score right before half killing the game clock. Score another TD out of the half on another clock-eating drive. Get up 10 in the 4Q with 7 minutes to go. Give up 21 points in 5 minutes. Lose.

Wait... LOL

NOt so fast. Spagnola loves to blitz - whether it be run or pass - Blitz. So yes - lets run the ball. For sure, but runs that don't result in negatives - if a run blitz occurs. How, I don't know. The only thing I can think of are sweeps or outside zone runs involving misdirection's. Got to use Deebo and McCaffrey as decoys of each other. If KC loads up on the run with 8 man fronts, run the damn ball anyway - but *smartly* with jet sweeps involving CMC/Deebo as decoys. OLine - read Brendel - has to call out the pass and run blockings with 99.999% accuracy in the game or he can get his QB or RB hurt.

Wait... LOL

I think Purdy will object.

Personally, I think, this may be the game where Kyle takes offensive possession in the first play if he wins the coin toss. Why give KC the momentum advantage of going through the 49ers defense and score 3 or whatever on the first KC drive, and then playing from behind. Personally, I say analytics be damned - take the ball and score a TD/Feid goal on that first drive and play from ahead. But that's just me, I'm being fearful of falling behind a Mahomes led offense.

Yeah, he had played well up to that point but was getting pancaked in his own backfield last game. Man.

He's all we got right now vs KC. But key here is we're much healthier on the OLine than KC is on the OLine. I think KC lost a starting OLineman to a pectoral injury. He's possibly out for the Superbowl. Omenihu is also lost for the remainder of the season.

True, they lost Joe Thuney which is a big loss for them. We couldn't take advantage of the Lions key OL Injuries so I don't expect it here either though. Omenihu is a really big loss too for them so that too helps. It's our year! From health to the way the ball bounces, it's been our year. 1 more to #6!

Disagree a bit on that. Yes, in the first half, we couldn't take advantage of the Lion's OLIne weakness and I think the Lions were basically gambling on the 49ers trying to take advantage of that injury and running on the Stunts the 49er defense was playing. I think that was one reason (I haven't rewatched the NFCCG yet) the 49ers D got road graded in the first half.

In the second half, defense adjusted and shut down the WR toss Crack plays, and when the 49ers got back to a tied game. That's when I think the 49ers DLine started being able to rush Goff (mostly from the interior) and shut him down on those 3rd and 4th down pass plays.

When did they shut down the toss crack play? I only recall the Lions calling it once and it went for a big first down.

Lions got away from what they were doing more than anything else.

He's held up surprisingly well for a free agent OLineman, in my opinion. I think he's worth resigning as depth and for sure, competition - if (I Hope) ShanaLynch decide to invest in some future Brock Purdy OLine protection. His current cap number is 3 million for a one year rental. That most likely will go up in the offseason if 49ers decide to keep him.

If I recall correctly - they shut it down by basically having the DB that's covering the WR-blocker to basically move to the LOS and hold the edge/run blitz. That happened once or twice in the 2nd half and forced Lions into second and longs and third and longs, and our offense took over and ball hogged and got some scores. Lions started going north/south on their runs and 49ers DT's and defense forced a Gibbs fumble making that comeback possible. Once I view the replay, I'll try to see if I can come up with a better answer. I'm going to enjoy the replay of the game later in the week with friends and family.

Its weird that someone who seemingly hates this team so much spends so much of his time here arguing with 49ers fans.
