Congrats SJ, undisputed heavyweight champ of the OL thread bets

Lol, thanks. I took the bet purely because of the value.
We'll get a rematch next year in some form and test these formulas.

Solid backup. Can start multiple positions if necessary, but I'm still fixated on 3 picks on OL.
Tackle and two guards or two tackles and a guard/center.
Same, 3 OLIne picks would be ideal for me too. I think we have 11 draft picks, and I can still see ShanaLynch going for Defensive Line on day one, and one OLine pick in day two, and two more offensive line picks in day 3. Or at least I would hope. However, last year - he used the free agency period to get some OLinemen and once he got Pryor and Feliciano in free agency (and he seems to have been right) he didn't draft ANY OLinemen in last years draft. I fear he might do the same thing over again this next offseason.
What's the fear though.. is it getting ready to play OL ?
or you rather pick OL just to pick OL who won't even start over true depth we need to replace ?
I'm glad we can go either direction with the cap space and get a nice balance of picks a FAs
Draft is key to long terms success, and getting a banks 2.0 and a Trent Williams 2.0 in the draft is going to be big in keeping the rest of the established starters on the team in the long run. Its nice they got Pryor and Feliciano in Free Agency, but they are basically one year rentals. It's basically cap management 101 -- Draft well your core players, and your Superbowl window will be open always.

So Smokey, since both of your teams are playing each other, do you have to pay yourself when you lose? Win? LOL
I said I should have won double, lol.
I'll get a destination linked to you for the payment. Likely going to be an animal shelter.
Nice. I'm a big animal lover too. I might just double it for you.

With a lot of draft picks and 40mil in cap space, i think we can find a good balance. i mean 4 NFCCG is a good formula
40 mil in cap space? Where you seeing that.
Pretty sure they have nothing at the moment.
rough estimates.. but we created 40 mill in cap space this year (gonna roll it over) and we free up another 20mil in dead cap and UFA

I guess at some point in time,... 3 OL picks became = to 3 good, productive players?

We should trade up for this guy.
Tyler Guyton
Oklahoma · OT · Senior
Guyton is a tall, long and rangy right tackle. He doesn't have a ton of starting experience (15 total starts over four years at Oklahoma and TCU), but he is very gifted. In pass pro, he explodes out of his stance and has the range to cover up speed rushers. He is very fluid and smooth in his redirect versus counter rushers. He plays with excellent knee bend. His problems arise versus power rushers, where he can look a little flimsy up top and get tugged/pulled. He has very good awareness for someone with limited reps. In the run game, he moves like a tight end. He can reach and cut off easily, excelling in space. He is exceptional as a puller because of his athleticism and balance on the perimeter. He does a great job staying off the ground. Overall, Guyton is still a work in progress, but he has elite traits and tools.

9ers need to get off the trade up train for a draft.

It depends if the player is worth it or not.
And he might fall to us anyway given draft vulnerability.
If we do need to draft up, it would only cost us a 3rd rounder.
A lock down tackle is worth it.
We will wait and see.
