rough estimates.. but we created 40 mill in cap space this year (gonna roll it over) and we free up another 20mil in dead cap and UFA

Pretty sure thats all accounted for in what they have earmarked for this year though.

exactly, saving it for next year. Our own cap thread has the amount or close to it in the title

And he might fall to us anyway given draft vulnerability.

If we do need to draft up, it would only cost us a 3rd rounder.

A lock down tackle is worth it.

We will wait and see.

Agreed. Teams that are rebuilding need a bunch of draft picks. We're not in a rebuild just yet. We need quality players.
I'd love to see a new exciting right tackle come in and learn from Trent Williams while he is still here

Also if we get a good Right Tackle, the opposition defences wont know which way e are going to run the ball instead of it always being to the left

Funny all year long all we've heard is they can't and won't get to the SB or can't/won't win because of the OL and at one point they lost home field advantage etc etc. then as they progress to the SB it's this is our year, never doubted it etc etc to set up a victory lap. Shades of Lynch EOY, you heard it here first! back in 19'

Was that before or after starting a thread dedicated to sh***ing on Lynch for not stupidly trading for Khalil Mack? Hard to keep track.

Lol that was the year prior. 19 is where he absolutely s**t on everything that Lynch did or didn't do all off-season culminating in a meltdown of epic proportions when they didn't trade for OBJ…..then tried to say he was in lockstep with all of his moves and called EOY before everyone 🤣

That's what I was asking AB…I didn't think OTC, Spotrac etc factor in the current cap rollover, but I could be wrong

we haven't used any of that cap space really. we didn't extend any of the guys we got from trade and they weren't big cap hits also

things are looking good

What's the fear though.. is it getting ready to play OL ?

or you rather pick OL just to pick OL who won't even start over true depth we need to replace ?

I'm glad we can go either direction with the cap space and get a nice balance of picks a FAs

It's all about who is available at your pick. Should never lock into any position.
Our Starting OL i think is set for next year except for Feli

With a lot of draft picks and 40mil in cap space, i think we can find a good balance. i mean 4 NFCCG is a good formula

This draft is loaded with good OT prospects who are plug and play in round 1, so I'm all for taking 1 in the 1st if they are BPA. they have to get some good young OTs in the pipeline for the future as well as someone who could either take Mckivitz spot right away or slide inside for a year if needed.

This was a Bill Walsh staple. That's why he always had confidence moving on a year too early, than late.

The Khalil Mack Allen Robinson Andrew Norwell plan. If only.

My build thru the draft plan sure wasn't the right way to go or anything.

I'm good either way.. our OL is intact and could afford to have the OL of the future sit/learn if needed.. and still have cash to fill depth
Yes, Totally true NCommand.

That showed Bill Walshs genius as much as his play calling.

Of course, they had 3-a-days back then and loooong off seasons so you could really develop players back then. It's much harder to do that now.
Yes true, but by bringing a talent to Trent Williams to learn during the season, it could still happen.

Better now than when Trent is gone.

So way I read it is we were way over originally and the money we saved this year is already factored in. Gotta extend folk to get room. Kittle Warner and Ward for sure.

i don't think it is factored in, cause that site doesn't know if we will roll it over or not... I'm not too familiar with OTC. i like ST better

edit: just looked at ST, pretty good layout. ST has the rollover factored in and it looks like we only have 1.6 avail
