It's just so crazy that 4 years ago we had the exact same problems on the o line. Chris Jones took over and wrecked the SB. 4 hears later the talent on the right side is worse and the same guy wrecked the game.

Whos denying its an issue? It just wasn't the proximal cause.

Turnovers. Penalties. Blown coverages.

And none of that would have mattered if they can convert on 3rd and short late in the game but once again the OL got blown up. Its not just pass blocking, there's a notable dropoff on runs going to the left versus runs going to the right this season. You can't have the entire rightside of your OL be that much of a liability in crucial games. Its a constant issue in why they lose big games.

Right side doesn't matter if they don't make those mistakes either. Again they need an upgrade. There is no argument. But to ignore everything else and dumb it down to one or two miss OL plays is NCommand level dumb analysis.

Chiefs tackles are complete liabilities. They make up for it. Gotta overcome the flaws. They have done it two years in a row.

Sure would be nice to get a guy free once in awhile.when 9ers blitz. But that's apparently too much to hope for.

Jones cost us I think 2-3 scores? We had guys open but he disrupted the play. That's crazy.

NC lost his argument weeks ago. Straight up simple.
every off season they get everything but oline

But mistakes are going to happen, its inevitable. Having a solid OL makes it easier to bounce back from them. Chris Jones alone and the inability of the OL to block him cost the 49ers what should have been two touchdowns.

You can't invest in a pocket passer and have half your OL be garbage. Go look at Brees and the OL's he had in New Orleans or Brady in New England. They consistently had some of the best OL's in football. That is what its going to take for the 49ers going forward if they're serious about ever winning another SB.

Because they send the house and the o line gets confused. It's what great defensive coaching looks like.

They need to upgrade more than just the O line to beat KC going forward.

It seems so.

Or just don't turn it over twice. Or put the Chiefs in position to have 4 downs every set of downs to score on a game winning drive.

We could have won this game in multiple different ways.

And this is the year to do that. When there is talent there at 31 to make the difference.

Both turnovers were not mistakes that should be ignored. Cost us at least 3 and gave then 7. 10 point swing.

Or I don't know use scheme to get your own sacks or pressures instead of just relying on your d line to win every play.

The Spags/Wilks mismatch was enormous at the end.

I'm not disagreeing entirely, but I would argue with better protection easily we win that game. It's our biggest issue the last few years. Before it was a mix of o line and jimmy, but imo Purdy is great and played a hell of a game.

They literally didn't draft one lineman last year! romo it out too , Purdy had a few guys deep but throw was either off or not there because jones/pressure blew it up.
A competent o-line and that's a different game. Period.

KC easily wins with better protection too. Teams have flaws. Gotta mitigate. They did and we didn't.

I think the D needs a schematic overhaul. Just wont win with bend but don't break all game. That's as big an issue as the O line and secondary.

Multiple upgrades are necessary.
