I see this happen all the time with this team. I'll be honest I don't know s**T about line blocking schemes but is this a case of them trying to be to cute by pulling guys on passing downs ? It just seems we confuse ourselves more then anything.

Kyle's ego to show the world how brilliant he is and how he does not need to worry about the line if he can trick the D. Guess what, the only one he fooled was his o line. He's a 2nd place coach. I'm over it just bummed he can't pull his head out.

if we don't get a dt in fa then snag another one in rd 2 or even trade up to get one. I'd try to retain Feliciano he was good. Otherwise draft a couple more. We have 11 picks.

No reason to overdraft him.

I thought so as well, but he's projected end 1 top 2 so it's a perfect fit. If he ends up being great who cares, but with the data we have it seems like a solid move imo.

Good call. C is crucial to this system, like you noted. Gotta get a talented one in training right now...lots to learn in this system!

I can't wait to see if ShanaLynch finally change up their team building strategy.

Oddly enough, I think the stars align. We felt he should have addressed it last year and we know he tried to get. Better center, but they didnt and it bit them in the arse at the end.

why do I say stars align? Because we have something most teams don't. We have a qb now. I believe Purdy is elite and good enough to win it all, but he is a pocket passer and we need to compliment that accordingly.

it's a nice luxury to not be hunting for a qb in the draft the next 10-15 years. So more resources should logically be spent elsewhere with priority one being his protection.

I feel like they should treat this draft as a trenches and attitude rebuild. We need more nasty along the lines. I want some serious bullies. Bring in guys that love football and enjoy the grind. The team needs it.

Players need to call out the coaches as well... everything is lovey dovey over there. Some are ok with losing... Kyle is ok with it and used to it now. He's prepared to not take accountability in these post season loses.

You want this to play out publicly?

Yeah... folks need a slap in the head.

Look at Burford's response... instead of just owning up to it and just saying "yeah folks I'm sorry but I'm the one who f**ked up. Not Mckivitz"

Instead.. of "omg, how dare you".

Seriously though WHO CALLS OUT KYLE? Our local media sure don't. What does Kyle fear to make adjustments to his past mistakes? He never admits them publicly.

In the post game conference I heard talk about the team from him... where as Brock and Christian McCaffrey blamed themselves for the lost.

Eventually the players will stop taking him serious and tune him out... just play for their paychecks.

They can go at him one on one. Lynch can do that. I think Aiyuk will. I'm hoping there is a shift. I agree with you on media. The way Deebo was used was foolish and I said so during the game. They definitely need a shift. Normally there's a major change in a 7 year period with all franchises. The only team with the right to do things the same are the Chiefs and I'm willing to bet even they are going to upgrade their roster at receiver and even TE (Kelce is getting older).

What we do in the draft and in FA will let me know of Kyle is changing in any meaningful way.

Shanahan's protection scheme is an embarrasing mess.

What do you guys think of Tyron Smith to play RT who will be a FA? Too old or anymore left in the tank and how much? Make Mcivitz the swing tackle and then go in the draft and get a stud RG/C first and then an OT in the 2nd/3rd that can sit for a year or 2 since Trent is back next year. The rookie is inserted between the veterans of Brendel and Smith. But you guys get my drift, right side needs to be fixed.

Loved him earlier in his career but he's a big injury risk now. Can be elite on both sides if he;s fully healthy but that's a crapshoot.

I get it. He played 13 games this year and was 2nd team AP All Pro. I read he's looking for a chance to hopefully fo to a Super bowl caliber team and just looking for a year/2 year contract. Ideal to have someone sit behind to develop. They estimate Maybe $7-9 million a year.
How Kansas City Chiefs defense DERAILED San Francisco 49ers offense in key moments

Good breakdown of the Oline losing the game (esp. Burford and McKivitz)

Thanks for posting!

I detailed the same inside-out foundation yesterday for NY85. Glad Boone covered it extensively. BOTH Burford and McKivitz are at fault here. Burford is the primary issue though.

Rough week for the "good-enough" and "QB-must-transcend" crowd. We had an MVP caliber QB and had the exact same result.

8 straight years of being proven wrong on this topic must be brutal for a few left in that camp in here.

We went up against a QB that transcended lol. One of the great all time transcenders. With that said, OL s**t the bed and Brock has been covering for them/transcending all year. But no one can transcend Chris Jones being in their lap at the snap of the ball. With a QB like Brock, we'll see if OL strategy changes.

I think it's a little of everything, but the true baseline of agreement is our o line is lacking and it imo is what ultimately cost us a Lombardi in this one.

*also we went up against refs who let everyone play which imo = automatic advantage to Mahomes.
