Jaylon Moore is bad, and he is their only back-up tackle. Not good.
They really should sign a free agent, must have another tackle.
These guys below may be better than McKivitz, definitely better than Jaylon Moore

Mekhi Becton
Was the #11 overall pick in 2020, is only 24 y/o.
Probably could sign for only $2-3 mil, maybe non-guaranteed so they could try him out?

David Bakhtiari ??

Donovan Smith
He would probably take a cheap low-guaranteed salary

Or may need to trade during preseason with a team that has too many tackles

Too bad they didn't trade up a couple of spots for Roger Rosengarten.

He's not the only backup tackle on this team…they signed Brandon Parker who's got over 30 starts in the past 5 yrs.

and actually no Becton is not better than Colton. DB's knees are made of mush.

I like the idea of signing Bakhtiari. 2 year contract as we get him healthy. Could possibly take over trent williams in 2025 maybe be ready for the second half of 2024 and take over the right side

He's a LT. He's had years to "get healthy" he's on his way out of the league man. He's played 14 games in 3 yrs.

Colton is not amazing, ya'll act like he's the worst starting RT in his first yr starting.

Philly certainly prioritizes OL. I'd be happier with the draft if they sign an OT in FA, but it sure seems like Kyle is cool rolling with McK so I'm hoping to at least see some improvement next season.

If they do it they'll wait another week for the comp pick deadline to pass so anyone they sign doesn't count against the formula.
The 2 OL they drafted are projected as G, but played Tackle. Like to see how they stack up in camp. W
nt to see if they can swing for tackle too as it can't hurt.

Speaking of your crazy opinions,...here is a new idea you might get behind: Why don't we just tank in 2024 so we can earn a pick high enough for a top tackle??

This. Colton is 27 and was his first year starting, he's gotten better every year. Banks is 26, Burford is 23, Puni is 24. Are they upgradable? Sure, but ppl out here acting like they are terrible and there's no hope for improvement. It's dumb to force a draft pick on a player you don't have highly rated just cus you feel like it's a "need"

We know one person who would be on board with that.
So we left the draft with 3 IOL? People wanted IOL and got it.

I'll just add that two/three of them can also play left tackle. They added depth and versatility - specially at the left tackle position. If it's true that Kyle's offense will be more pass happy (I doubt that) then you don't need a Trent Williams road grader at left tackle, but more of a Colton Mckivitz/Jalon Moore guy who can pass protect better than Run Block.

Eeeww. McKivitz is better than McGlinchey (barely) at pass protecting but to just call Trent a road grader? Neither Moore nor McKivitz are average, let alone good. McKivitz could improve given it was only year 1 of him starting, but I'd rather some kind of competition. That didn't happen again. I think the passing offense will take off and I hope McKivitz can hold up enough.

Im happy with it. I said all offseason that C and G was a bigger need than RT. Still would rather get a swing tackle bc Moore is horrible. I also don't want Burford on the team he has been horrible. It will also be interesting to see if Kingston or Nugent can kick Zakelj or Bartch off the squad

Battles in camp will be interesting

Moore vs Parker or sign a swing tackle

Bartch vs Zakelj vs Nugent vs Mays vs Nugent vs Burford for the last 2 spots.

I don't even recall Zakelj too much. Redshirted in year 1 and I don't recall year 2. Why do you want him off the team?
I am reading up on this Nugent kid and am surprised he went undrafted. I think he may seriously have a shot and even be better than Brendal.
