Add JF in for Burford and the rest of the starters will remain the same. Puni will be on redshirt duty.
After re watching the Packers conference game and the NFCCG, THE RIGHT SIDE OF THIS LINE SUCKS. I just don't know why anyone thinks it's acceptable to trot these guys out there and expect to win it all. I hope we can find a Right tackle somehow in the final cuts (Salary Causality) before the season starts. My only hope left.

I do like the draft picks in the first and 2nd rounds. I hope Puni can take over sometime next season on the right side.

Feliciano even looked like crap in these two games. Better than Burford but not good.

If anyone has a objective opinion on why we will be OK please explain. Please re watch the playoff games first before commenting. Toxic positivity, (lack of critical thinking) really is not interesting and takes away from the conversation.

I'm watching DET game now where mckivitz shut down Hutchinson and they just gave up the first sack of the game in the 4th. , can you please break down where feliciano looked like crap?
Thank you...Yes in the pick Brock threw both McKivitz and Feliciano were pushed back into Brock. I'm in the 2nd Qtr now and have not seen any holes for McCaffrey other than his touchdown. Brock was getting pounded on almost every pass play from the right. The Packers game as well. Brock is a shorter QB and if the D lines get so much push into the backfield he throws high. The rain was the issue in the Packers game but the Lions game it was the D line in the back field.

Hmm… you need to finish the game. You said they looked like crap so I assumed you had watched the whole game. And this does not mean I'm good either right side btw

Ok Feliciano played better in the 2nd half but on both Purdy's scramble runs it was pass pro break down right side to middle protection. The second sack on Purdy was Feliciano. When they had Kittle in to help on the right side it went much better.

This is the offensive line thread but dang we have some seriously great players on this team. I'm so glad we did not trade Aiyuk, just wish we could give Purdy a little more time, it's all I ask for. If we could let plays develope a little longer we would be unstoppable.

Brandon Parker's history reminds me a bit of Laken Tomlinson's history. Didn't do much with the Lions and Laken comes here and becomes a great starter. I'm hoping that's the same with Brandon. He has the physical talent to play left tackle and the measurables. (Long arms etc...)

If he can beat out Jalen Moore and Zakelj and make the team, that's going to make this OLine very deep going into this season.
So the front page article Barrows indicates they've now cornered themselves into drafting/signing any tackle next season?

If ShanaLynch is as desperate for a left tackle as they were for an elite QB in 2021, they will spend the draft capital or cap space for another Trent Williams 2.0 next year.

The problem is he and that deal was a gift in hindsight. That wont happen again.

I think the poster was referencing trading up into the top 10 for an elite tackle rather than planning on us being gifted a Hall of Fame tackle for day 2 and 3 picks (which happened in 2020).

Honestly, I don't think it's a necessity to get a tackle that dominant. Just get 7 deep with starting caliber guys who can be average or better. Pretty tall task given how short the league is on OL talent, but I'd rather that then using so many picks on a player other than a QB where it's no guarantee they work out.

49ers have averaged picking one all-pro player every year since 2017, except for the 2023 and the 2024 draft. Not saying they are going to pick an all pro left tackle next year, but I am saying they do have a 1 in 7 shot at picking an all-pro left tackle next year(if they don't sign one in free agency before that).

Trent is rare though. Even if there is that type of player in the draft he would be a top 5 pick. At this point whenever Trent is done, I'd settle for 3/4 of Joe Staley.😂😂😂😂😂

Agree, 3/4ths of Staley or Trent Williams would still be all-pro in my opinion. But I think it's not a stretch to see them picking a good left tackle next year in 2025 considering Purdy, Warner, Kittle, And Hufanga etc.. were also kind of rare lotto draft picks, in a sense. We shall see.
Garret Boles may be the next Trent in terms of players that fall into our lap. Last year of his deal, age 32. I think he and the Broncos would mutually agree to split ways. Might be had for some comp picks at the deadline.
