Puni looks great, but he is still between mediocrity if at RG which I don't like.

Everyone keeps talking depth when our starters are the issue. My hope is McKivitz shows improvement. I honestly dont have much faith in Brendel. I think they are better off trying some young blood there, but thats not their MO so it is what it is. Puni should make a nice difference tho.

If McKivitz can just incrementally improve along with Puni being an upgrade beside him and eventually Feliciano over Brendel we'll be better . Then again now that Feliciano will be coming off an injury I don't know that Kyle will just bench Brendel for him mid season

Kingston looked decent against the Raiders. Hope he makes the 53.
Not much changed after last night's game, IMO. Puni is the real-deal. McKivitz is still below average. Zackelj shouldn't even sniff the final 53.

Agreed. Brendel and Colton are below avg starters in the league. They had a golden opportunity to upgrade or at least add legit competition in this past draft.

massive missed opportunity imo. I would have taken a shot at Connor Williams in FA. He's a young good center who played in this same system. Coming off a ACL. Seattle signed him for like $3M.

Yeah, I don't see Zackelj making the team. PS squad most likely.
Really hope this line magically comes together when TW and Banks are back.

Puni looks like a definite upgrade but C Brendel hasn't played much and looks like he is regressing and RT McKivitz is getting worse each year.

Maybe Drake Nugent overtakes Brendel.

The OT options behind McKivitz are not good either (Moore, Hubbard?).

Problem is he is the #1 backup G right now it seems...with Joe F out.

i thought Z was the back up C ?
Watching that Jets/Giants game I don't know whether to feel better about our Oline or worse about our Dline.

There is a video out there with his preseason snaps......annnnndddddd........there is a video out there on YouTube with focus on Nugent too.....

Kingston, Puni and Nugent all look like they belong in the NFL... clearly Puni has tons of Hype and rightly so....but I hope we keep the other 2 as well. It is possible we picked up our interior in one dang draft.

I said this in the game thread. We need to keep the young guys that are good pass protectors.
Puni has broken into the lineup. The other two need to when ready. Still likely to have Banks and Brendel this year. Hope avg Mckivitz survives with Puni and a TE around him. Next year he can be the swing tackle. We should end up with a line then
Williams Kingston Nugent Puni rookie
We seem to be moving to more of a pass offense with Purdy which we should. A great pass protecting interior line will let him step up on the pocket. Combine that with wrs that can get open quickly and it will be deadly.

I was bummed we didn't get a tackle this year but the interior needed fixed too. We couldn't get everything. We needed wr and cb too. We were hurt by Lance trade.
We need to get tackle help.
People mentioned FA but I didn't see any future help there. I hoped a player would fall out with a current team and we could trade for one. Wirfs is out now. Keeping an eye on Slater.
It will likely be the draft. I will be following Josh Conerly this year as a possible athletic pick

We need to keep some of these younger and new guys. I'm sick of seeing Moore and Zackelj get blown up. Brendel is iffy at times too. We also got Batch that can be a reserve. Keep Hubbard too. Keep all the rookies.

Totally agree. It's time to get rid of players who just won't develop like Burford or Zakelj and try these new prospects out. I wanna see them develop Nugent, I'd hate to lose that kid.

Yeah, I feel like we'll lose him because we'll keep these scrubs.

Yeah, Felicano is a big loss. Zackelj is just another Brendel with less experience, and Kyle needs a center with a lot of experience in this offense because the QB has enough to handle with all the route adjustments as the motions changes the defensive coverage alignments.

The Center calls out the OLine protections and I'm not confident either Zakelj or Burford have the smarts to call the right protection adjustments with all the simulated pressures being brought on Brock.
