It made think about where Daniel Brunskill is...if he's available and how he's doing.

Seems he's not *available* and doing fine on both fronts.

Edit-

b*****d
I am vocal about how this line usually plays meh, but they were imo very good today.

I do think Mason blocked the wrong guy but I'm so used to. 🤷‍♂️

Purdy had a ton of time and couldn't find people.
I am seeing today the o-ine pooched it in the 4th. damnit these mofos are supposed to get stronger as the game goes on.
If they don't shore up the pass protection they risk giving Purdy perma-happy feet. He's great at being elusive but there's still too many plays when someone gets beat right off the line badly or blocks the wrong person or doesn't block anyone at all.

At what point does this start to fall on the guy who is supposed to be coaching the OL?

I agree with you.
Week by week the lack of total investment in the OL just gets worse, especially with a draft that was stacked at all positions on the OL.

Wow all those centers we passed on.... but a rookie cant handle Kyles system..... then his system sucks because a bunch of other coaches are doing great with theirs.

Kyle's response is interesting. We actually had enough guys in to block. 6 rushers and 6 guys protecting, including Mason. Someone f**ked up. I know McKivitz is the popular pick, but watching the tape, it looks like Brendel botched it.

It was both McKivitz and Brendel. Brendel f**ked up the call at the line and McKivitz should have taken the inside man and let the edge go.

TBH Kyle isn't one to blow up anyone to the media. He will be politically correct. Now behind the closed doors I think someone is getting their ass chewed out.

It doesn't matter if they don't change anything. Kyle had Alex Mack in Cleveland and Atlanta but otherwise he's mostly scraped by with random guys. In Houston it was Chris Myers who was a late round pick, a solid center overall but nothing amazing. In Washington he had Will Montgomery, another former late round pick that was average at best. Other than signing the injury prone Richburg, Kyle has continually brought in random journeyman types like Garland and Brendel. I don't have hope that they'll ever try to go and draft a potential top flight center to shore up the position.

It all starts at the top with the HC, Shanahan, and his propensity to "try to get by" with average-to-below average talent at key positions on the OL (in this case, C & RT for the Niners). You can't go into this season rolling out very limited talents like Brendel at C and McKivitz at RT with the high aspirations this team has. It's going to catch up with you at key moments in games and in the playoffs like we've seen. You look at last year's playoffs and all three teams the Niners faced, the Chiefs, Lions and Packers, all had far better OLs as they've done what it takes to assemble good OL talent, protect their franchise QBs, and run their offenses like they want to.

You've got to put better talent out there to protect Purdy and give this offense a chance to produce like it can with the talent it has...you have to find that talent either in the draft, FA or trades. This past draft was full of young promising OL talent as you mention here. Glad at least the Niners got Puni. However, this is Year 8 in the Shanahan era and we should expect better than guys like Brendel & McKivitz at key positions on the OL - that's not gonna cut it in winning in the trenches against good teams.
when the hell is Feliciano coming back? Get him in at center and we're working with something

Trent and Puni are raising the bar. Brendel still sucks and they've gotten to feast on teams with zero pass in New England and Arizona. Lets see how they handle the Chiefs, Bears and Bills who are coming up before singing their praises.
