Guessing it's Heck - Zakelj - Brendel - Puni - McKivitz

Pleasant backing up LT and Hennessy backing up the IOL.

They have to call up someone so I'm guessing it'll be Gutierrez as he can play both guard or tackle.
I thought I saw Guti released a few weeks ago?

Ya he's gone.

We've spent like 4-5 years trying to develop him and he couldn't even take a backup T spot. That's pretty ridiculous.

One change I would like to see next year is replacing Forster with a new OL coach. When he said about a month ago that we don't need to spend high picks on the OL because skill position players are more important that's fine and all. However, if that's the case then you better be able to develop young players well that aren't drafted early. Which he hasn't done at all.

Puni is great, but he would've been great everywhere else basically. Eagles for example have several starters that are pro bowlers, that were drafted very late and one guy was even a UDFA.

I agree, I think it's time to move on from Foerster too, I'm wondering if it's his decision to stick with Brendel for so long? Honestly didn't like Brendel much last season too. If he's the reason that the 49ers didn't draft Zach Frazier or Power-Johnson, I'm gonna be pissed!!!

Gutierrez was and then was brought back to the PS recently. I think we call him up cause he knows the system.

I think they gambled on Feliciano being healthy and got burned. I understand Bartch didn't have the best camp but he balled when he actually took the field. Brendel was injured all of camp and then proceeded to get pancaked on a weekly basis for the entire season.

The hesitancy to make a change when one guy is showing unacceptable performance is a big problem.

Sorensen benched Brown and Campbell.
Kyle has benched QBs in the past.

Chris is essentially the OC without the officially title and play calling, similar to how McDaniel was. It seems to me he definitely has sway over who plays.

Draft OT in Round 1- Banks and Simmons are the best fits

Draft a G in rounds 2-4 to compete at G. Scheme fits Mbow, Kandra, Fairchild, Colby

This line is playoff caliber
Trent - Bartch/rookie - Dalman - Puni - Banks

If they don't get Drew Dalman (honestly having second thoughts on him due to him battling injuries), I'd take Josh Myers (2nd round pick 2021 GB) he's started the last three seasons and only committed 4 holding penalties and 2 false starts.

I am 100% good with Myers. As long as they sign a league average veteran Center this line greatly improves

Thought Heck played a Heck of a game. Seriously he looked very solid. Pleasants was too bad either. I just thought Heck was really good. Kudos to both for stepping in and playing well.

True.....although Detroits DL is literally a bunch of 3rd stringers. So dont get too carried way. Let's see how the OL does against the Cards.

DJ Reader, Za'Darius Smith, Josh Pascal are 3rd stringers?

Fair....alot are on IR, mostly along the DL and linebacker.

Jack Campbell is a beast, I wish he were a 9er. He was reading every running play last night. What does that have to do with injuries, that's all the LB they needed.

Happy New Year btw!!!! Have a Safe one!!!

Did you see who the niners had to trot out on OL due to injuries?

You too
Agreed. I was trying to watch the left side. Heck looked good. Pleasants was decent. Zakelj was decent at least better than Banks. I need to see more next week and then I hope we bring them back for camp. i still want a bigger OL investment though.

I think Detroit was playing more than just 3rd stringers on the Dline. Those two LT were both on another teams practice squad last week. I am not getting carried away just said both players held up well in a real NFL game with 3 practices on a new team. They both played better than some guys who have been here all year.
